I like Thanksgiving so much better because it's more about hanging with people and eating good food.
the Wife and I are keeping it simple this year and it's been a nice morning. She's in health care and I got her a kids squishy brain model as well as an visible man. hilarity ensued as she struggled to put it together while we ate our alcohol infused chocolate. We got ourselves a phonograph and now we're listening to music and eating more of said chocolates.
I have a Turdunken ready to go in the oven.
It's all how you treat it, Merry HOHO to all.

Played the Zap Machine for awhile this morning. So. Effing. Good. Green channel set for some mid gain distortion and red set to maim anything in its path. Everything sounds giant but maintains clarity. Highly recommended dudes.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Weird, I guess it's amp dependent. I get really big, spanky cleans with my AlNiCo Warpigs into my Matamp's just by backing off the volume. I use a lot of cleans as well as big fuzz. I've never tried their Pig90 but I had their Mississippi Queens when they first came out. Very quiet and really midrange grind but holds up well to low tunings and fuzz.chillerthanmost wrote:I've also found that Warpig to do well with fuzz and dirty amps. Only thing I couldn't get into much were the cleans, though I don't know how many here do clean cleans. I bet it would do real well rolling the volume back, I never tried doing that. Nick, did you notice a big difference between the Warpig and the Pig90?

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
The one time I played a Warpig through a Les Paul was through a Carvin X100B and set pretty quiet. Nothing about the cleans popped out so it could had been the amp. I'm just used to HUGE open cleans when I play my amps. My Bareknuckle P90 get's a little too hot to do really clean cleans through a loud amp, but it sounds really nice and clean with the volume rolled back a hair.louderthangod wrote:Weird, I guess it's amp dependent. Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Die Hard on Christmas = FUCK YEAH!!! Lots better than how I'm spending my 24 hours on shift today. It hasn't been all that bad though. I took a nap for a few hours and then my partner and I made lunch. Gonna cruise up to the E.R. in a few and try to spread some Christmas cheer. Hope you guys have an awesome day today. My son got some new cymbals for his drumset from Santa when we got home last night. He was so excited that I didn't care if he pissed the neighbors off at 11:30 pm with a jam session. Got it on video and I swear he looked just like Keith Moon. I think the kid is gonna be an awesome drummer in a few years. Proud dad is proud.
In case you guys haven't seen it, Black Arts is having a 20% off sale today and tomorrow. Covens are around $260 I believe instead of $324. Santa left me some cash in my stocking so it's the perfect time to hit Mark up about a custom job.

Happy Festivus or what have you. Christmas music pisses me off, kids were up at 5:30 am and are now complete train wrecks. Fortunately Santa brought me wine and beer.

first xmas with my kid…got him a little grand piano which he seemed to really like he was banging away on it all day. very tiring day, but the bottles of wine and all the food has now taken its toll on me as well…also saw Black Arts having a 20% off sale…and although i don't need it, and have no space on my board…i think i will be spending my xmas money on a Quantum Mystic...

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I enjoyed my Christmas well enough, it was probably the most uneventful thus far. I'm at that awkward stage where I'm getting too old to get much from my parents for Christmas and almost old enough to be expected to get stuff for other people. It's not any serious pressure, but the holiday is no longer a novelty for me. At least not until I have kids.
All that said, I hope everyone had a doomerific day, regardless of what you believe or celebrate. I'm going to be weaseling the little bit of cash I've collected together with some of my Christmas Break paychecks to maybe put together a backup guitar or a second head of some sort. We'll see.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
That was probably the first time that pickup ever produced a clean tone while in my possession. That rig is definitely not dialed in for great clean tones. Always loved that Warpig with fuzz though. It's high output, but still maintained a lot of clarity and didn't get too scooped in the mids.chillerthanmost wrote: The one time I played a Warpig through a Les Paul was through a Carvin X100B and set pretty quiet. Had a good day. My Wife runs Ultramarathons so I got here the "Western States 100" movie and we watched that while food cooked. Turdunken is delish. lots of nummy foods and I got to work on guitars a bit whule she went for a training run.
Looking forward to further sonic destruction over the new year.
Thanks to you all for providing inspiration and knowledge. I would not be doing what I am without you lot.
