Non-reverse Firebird is killer. Always wanted one of those. And what year is the cherry SG special? Finish looks a lot like my 67 Jr.

Thanks man!! The red is a '68. The white is a '65.

Just threw the vibrola back on my Jr and put a Mojoaxe wraparound tailpiece on it and couldn't be happier. Great bridge if ever you're in the market.

yeah, I definitely love the vibrolas. the mojoaxe looks cool--I don't have terrible intonation issues, but I do use a plain G, so it's probably worth looking into.

just traded a guitar I wasn't using for this:

Image
Tokai LS-92

was trying to trade an Ibanez RGA for a jazzmaster or mustang which was obviously never going to happen, figured if i traded it for this i'd have a better chance

it actually sounds and plays nicer than any current model gibson LP i've tried. the case is snazzy, too.

Don't get rid of this guitar. It's super rad and I heart MIJ copy era guitars.

previous owner switched out the pups for EMG and changed the knobs to 2 volume, no tone.

well those EMG pickups really suck. really flat sounding.
I just ordered a bare knuckles WarPig to put in the bridge.
I really like the neck on this guitar!

time will tell. I'll keep it if I keep getting offered faded SG's and cash in the 4-500 dollar range

LP's are a really uncomfortable shape for me, just feels weird to hold. If it weren't for that I'd probably be set on keeping it. I'd never played one of these Tokai's before but the quality is amazing.

the filtertron knockoffs are pretty sweet. It gets most of the tele character but comes with some bottom end. Really likes the dirt for a tele. Plus it was marked down a couple hundred so I should be able to put a real set of filtertrons in it in the near future :thumb:
