Is Subdecay killing the Noisebox?

If you've ever wanted a NoiseBox you should probably get one very soon. Just sayin'.

This is so much suck. One of the greatest pedals ever. I understand... everyone's gotta go forward, do new shit, can't imagine that this is a big seller etc etc, but it's just so wacky and different and inspiring and at the same time so useable. AND IT'S A CALLED A FUCKING NOISEBOX. How much better can a pedal get?

Yeah, it's sad news, but totally understandable. I love the noisebox too, but I don't think SubDecay ever sold a whole lot of 'em.

(I may have to scrounge up enough money to pick up a backup.)

I'm not sure I guess with other options out in the wild now (Copilot FX Orbit, Dimehead PLL etc.) it became a bit obsolete maybe, personally I like both pedals I mentioned better than the Noise Box even though that envelope thing is cool the fuzz is kinda lacking for my taste, it just sounds a bit too mild and polite, as in my opinion is the thing with practically all Subdecay stuff I tried so far.
That Fembot however, judging on clips that seemed to be nasty as hell, hell, if they did a Noise Box with that type of sound I'd be game I guess. :)
My small change though. ;)

Who doesn't need a pick sensitive crazy filter with rude synth fuzz? If You ask me everybody needs one. It's perfect for any genre of music if You're fearless enough to use it. But well... yeah, probably it just doesn't sell as good as more traditional sounding pedals, because... that's how majority of pedal users still are :idk:  :whateva:

I'd love to see all the batshit crazy noise gear staying available, because ...well, DOD Buzz Box and Meat Box prices are a good example of why. :mope: :grumpy: Besides, who gives a shit about the production of tube screamer clones and run of the mill reverbs? Nobody. Because there's a plenty of them available anyway, everywhere, always, even in different price ranges (if somebody desperately needs a 1000.00$ Klon lube sreamer).

damn this sucks. i hope it means they're going to REPLACE IT WITH SOMETHING EVEN MORE CRAZY.

i seriously love the noisebox though, i doubt it will ever leave my board. it's so responsive to your playing, you can go absolutely fucking mental with it or just play a riff/do something 'normal' and both will work with the same knob settings. i still don't exactly know what the knobs even do

first thought that crossed my mind... although i've had zero issues with the subdecay peds i've owned. rock solid reliable gear.

Yeah, they should make a big pedal version of this first. Or prepare for the pedals ghost come back haunting.

I know Brian has mentioned a mega kill everything version from time to time.

Even though I've never had a problem with any subdecay pedal I'll buy a backup as it is so indispensable for me. What I like is that I can run it by itself and it's great, or stack it with any fuzz for brutes. I hate using the volume knob on my guitar for anything other than silence between songs. And the Noisebox allows my hate of volume knobs while still being super touch sensitive. 16th note triplets at 110 BPM, creating rhythmic variation by opening and closing the filter... So much fun!

Great pedal, great builder!
I have three subdecay pedals and even though none of them have permanently sealed a spot on my board(s) through the years, I'll probably never sell them. To much fun and creativity.

Yeah, that's true. Which is probably a good thing because I can't afford to buy any pedals right now anyway.

Welp. Any of you dudes think you could maybe live without your noisebox for a few days? I'd like to give one a go.

 maybe that pedal rental site has them

Mine's on my gig board. In Sweden.
If I can find some stuff to sell and pick up a backup I'll send it to you though.

Oh man that's super nice of you, but I couldn't make ya do that. If you were closer maybe.
Thank you though

I'm interested in the Noisebox but a little confused about what it does/what it's good for. I'm looking for something that sounds 'acid-damaged' for lead lines (I like the band Chrome a lot) and was wondering if the Noisebox would be something I could use. Or maybe better off with the Flanger Hoax.

So confused… :(
