Building a pedal board

Post by hammertime118 »

Lately I've been really been getting into pedals and my friend told me to join this site. I'm sure my pedal collection will get bigger and bigger as the months go on, so I'm looking to build a pedal board. Does anyone one have suggestions on how to build a pedal board? I'm looking to save money. Haha.

Easy mode suggestions:
-ammo crates
-ikea "gorm" shelf
-wood pallets from behind hardware stores

1.Lay your pedals out the way you like.
2.Measure how big of a board you would need.
3.Add 6 " for the pedals you know you will end up adding.
4.Buy piece of ply wood (get it cut at the store if you don't have the tools.)
5.Buy fabric that velcro will stick to.
6.Adhere fabric to board with Super 77 or 90 spray adhesive.
7.Add up the money and time that you've spent. Is it more or less expensive than buying a board from somewhere like Rondo...?

Plywood is expensive these days and you'll get way more than you need. Try one or two 1x's and some screws. Should be less than $15. Another $5-10 for good velcro, depending on the size of board...

This is about 13x19" and there is a 2.5" lift in the back.

I went the Gorm route and added 3" triangles on each side as risers (can fit a Cioks DC10 underneath) but if/when I need more room I'll do things the plywood way
