I don't have a picture of it, as it's at our practice space, but I have one of these:

I put some KT88s in place of 6L6s, as they sound a bit dull to my ears. It makes the tube blend a much more worthwhile feature that way.

I have posted about this in the ilovedoom forum but I figured I would share here too, now that I got it to the practice space. This is my DIY custom head based off some old orange and matamp specs with a little bit thrown in from electric amps. I basically did everything from scratch except the faceplate that I designed but had bnp lasers make for me. Besides that I drilled the chassis, did the layout, wired everything up, built and tolexed the head shell. Got a little technical help from Duniwch when I needed some guidance, he was a great help, especially with the power section. But here it is, it is running through a sunn 412L and a DIY 1x15 oversized cab I built a while ago but never got around to staining.

Fantastic work, mate. I'm really envious. I'd love to give something like that a try myself. I need to get off my ass and start tinkering.

How much did It cost to make, I currently have an issue about needing money but wanting to keep my orange sound and tone but im going to have to let it go. So I'm trying to find cost effective solutions to keep my tone but have some extra dough from letting the orange go.

Thanks guys. It took some time, but purposefully so. I wanted to makes sure I got everything right and everything would be solid so it could stand up to being moved around for shows.

Truthfully I didn't keep a good record of how much everything cost as I spread everything out over a period of a few months. But I don't think I saved much if anything at all over buying a vintage unit if they are selling for around $1000 to $1300. But probably in that ballpark, maybe a little less. Definitely saved over buying one direct from electric amp or probably importing from Matamp since they are on the more expensive side. One of the biggest costs that isn't really included though are building costs. Like the tools or consumables like the glue for the tolex or stain. It cost me $30 for the pine board for the head shell but then I had to spend for wood glue and the contact cement for the tolex. If you want something on the cheaper side Weber has an orange style kit that you could get for around $600. I think Nick built one way back. The components are on the cheaper side and a few things are switched around like the transformers being a marshall style, but otherwise it gets you into the orange territory from what I understand. Besides you can always spend a bit more to change a few components and redesign a few things that you may not want to include.

Dammit man that LOGOS amp has been giving me palpitations for days over in the DR thread!

I suppose I should show off the Garnet in here. I got this the other day. It's a 150 watt slave that runs on six el34's. I was under the impression that such a thing would require a preamp but this thing sounds great without. It's a big basic clean tone which thus far has been wicked good with all pedals I put in front of it. A lucky score at $150. All I had to do to it was add a pair of el34's which I had sitting around already.
