TS9 Missing Wire

Post by Dulouz »

Hey Everyone!

I was given this non-functional TS9 to see if I could bring it back to life. It gives a signal when bypassed, but nothing when engaged. The LED lights up, but that's it.

I think I may have figured out the problem, but I need a little help fixing it.

I believe there should be a wire connected to where it the PCB is labeled "Red 15". The trouble is, I don't know where it goes. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated!

Here's a photo to show what I'm talking about:

I think from this the diagram bellow it should be to the battery/DC jack. This will only be true if the numbers on the pcb correlate with this schematic. Double check where the PCB trace goes before connecting it. You do not want to damage anything.

The Past Recedes is right. I just cracked open mine (which is the older Maxon board, not the newer Ibanez one, but the wire order seems the same)

Is the red wire from the battery hooked up to anything?

Thanks guys!

Yeah. It's the battery wire.

Trouble is, this pedal was mangled by someone trying to mod it. Hopefully its not beyond repair. I'm gonna strip the solder globs from the modded sections and see if I can get it back to stock/working condition.
