Oh yeah, picture is dark there. The headstock is matching burst finish. Fender shape. It's got a pretty significant crack, but it's not all the way through. It's been glued, but it feels solid. I'll keep an eye on eBay for a cheap Bronco or Jag neck to keep around in case it does break eventually.

I have to play around with the pickups and my gear to dial in the sound more. Not sure if it will be a keeper but it is pretty cool.

After two weeks of work travel, I loaded up all the gear to take to the practice spaced and ripped on everything for a couple of hours. That was needed.

Yeah that's hawt.
Have you tried to play it fingerstyle yet? Do the octave strings take a lot of getting used to?

I seem to only want to play it fingerstyle. More control, although the octaves are more pronounced with a pick.
The octave strings do take some getting used to, and I guess I could have spaced them over a little closer to the bass strings, but I kind of like that they are a little farther away in case I want to ONLY play the octave string without the bass string.

I was getting some buzzing/noise when using both pickups split into two different amps, but then I realized that it's coming from running the pickups to both amps. When I run the bass to one amp there isn't any noise at all. Tonight I set up a bass board and a guitar board to run everything through. I don't have any clips of that yet as I want to practice and play around a bit before I record anything, but until then here is a poorly recorded clean demo:
