New cab achieved! Sounds pretty rad, though a speaker swap may happen at some point.

Re: Let's see your AMP!
I've been demoing that OR15 a lot. I like it,...I just wish it was two channel.
Sooooo,....I went up to a Pawn Shop that has become a dealer for Orange; somehow, and they have a TH30 for $899 (they've also got an OR15 for $579) as well as a matching 1x12 V30 cab for $299. They are pretty willing to wheel and deal if you have cash in hand and I wonder if I could get them down to a G for full setup (TH30 and Cab). I'd much prefer the TH30 since it's got a Dirty and a Clean channel.
I did talk to a guitar tech buddy of mine and he mentioned something about these Taiwanese Oranges being difficult/impossible to work on.

Re: Let's see your AMP!
I'm a big fan of small single channel amps so the OR15 really fits the bill.
Never heard that, though I have heard a lot of the non-UK Oranges use very cheap parts, like pots and jacks crapping out. So far so good!

Re: Let's see your AMP!
It's been mentioned around here that build quality has suffered a bit. I'd imagine the UK stuff is higher quality.
I'm figuring on buying new so hopefully if any issues crop up I can just get warranty repairs.
Also,...considering how much less the OR15 is compared to the TH30; I could see me opting for the OR15. I just love how much gain these things have. But I could just run it slightly dirty and rely on FUZZ/OD for higher gain tones.

Re: Let's see your AMP!
So yesterday me n Skully met up to go to a local used gear store (Atomic Music in Maryland), and I traded a bunch of old PA gear for this little Beasty!!! It's a Sterling Imports era modded to 70's single channel OL specs and has the reverb and fx loop bypassed as well as a "high gain mod". And it came with Mullard (new not NOS) power tubes, and the service tag from the mod's / restore was on the inside of the chassis from 2009, looks like it was recapped and everything. It's cleaner on the inside then the outside
Anyways onto pics:

I think I'm going to turn this into my first project amp, as I eventually want to upgrade all the pots (especially the master volume) and remount the tube sockets to the chassis instead of the pcb. Which is all pretty simple stuff. It sounds killer, me and Skully plugged in on a whim and were blown away with how good it actually sounded. I didn't want to trust a newer hiwatt but this was one of those times where i trusted my ears and I'm glad i did.

I'm curious as to what speaker you're thinking of putting in there. I have one but can't really say I love it. Can't tell if it is the speaker or just me.

great find AA. i tried a lead 100 from the same era once...
it sounded fantastic, but the cork sniffer got the best of me and i passed on it because it wasn't from the mil spec era. shame on me. my ears were pointing me in the right direction, and i didn't trust them. congrats!

Thanks Rev! I was weary at first and nick tried to warn me but my ears convinced me otherwise. It's such a stark contrast having a bright and mid heavy amp compared to my other really dark amps. It will be nice to have for recording and or other projects. Also since this is a more vintage and simple PCB amp I can try out my hand at doing some mods to it. It's all ready got a few mods but I want to swap out the pots for non-pcb mounted and swap out the coupling caps and the cap on the bass knob to give it some more lows, and maybe have a new face plate made to delete the unused knobs and clean it up a bit.

It makes me angry I missed out on that Simms-Watts 100 I told you about. The seller knocked it down to €500 for a 70's Simms-Watts and a vintage Ampeg 2x15. Damn it. Damn it! DAMN IT! DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNITTTTTTTTITITIT!!!

That's exactly how I run mine! Works like a charm.

Right now, I'm torn between a WGS Reaper or Retro 30. Reaper would probably be more versatile, but in clips the Retro 30 sounds really awesome with dirt.
