Baritone scale question

Thanks for the suggestions! Working on sanding the body. Still stuck on the baritone idea rather than the 6-string bass. While that headstock is undeniably pleasing, right now I'm thinking of just getting an unfinished baritone neck, attempting to finish it when I finish the body, then sell off the original neck. The original's a little different than others I've seen, though, with an extended piece that sits below the neck pickup. Not sure if that will cause problems when mounting a foreign neck there, or if it'll just be possible but overly complicated like all of these projects seem to end up.
If it works, looks like it'll mean cutting the pickguard OR, more likely, just getting a new one cut with either no neck pickup or a smaller one, depending on the space available.
