I have an idea of a pedal that I'd like to build. I got the idea from using a holier grail in a feedback loop. when you have the gate of the grail "on" the wailing feedback will be gated out according to the gate threshold. It was really cool to use. I am thinking that I could have a TB/FB loop with a gate somewhere in there to create the same effect with using other pedals as well. I should be able to find a layout for the TB/FB loop with a feedback and volume knob easy enough, but I cant figure out which gate circuit is the one I want. I remember I had a McSpunkle modded NYC Muff at one point that had a one knob gate on it, and I think it cant be that hard.
On the holier grail there's a "slow" and a "fast" setting for the speed of the gate. I don't know if you guys know how that works, but it was sick to experiment with, and I'd really like to incorporate that in the design.
Anyways, I've been spending a good hour here on the interweb looking for a simple gate circuit to throw in an enclosure with a FB loop. This seems to be the place that I would find it, but am unfamiliar with which circuit could work. http://experimentalistsanonymous.com/di ... 0Limiters/
Or maybe just find a schem for the holier grail and figure out which part is the gate?
This is pretty simple and works decent. Gating a fuzz is usually easy to do by adjusting the collector resistor value on one or more of the gain stages, and it doesn't matter if it's clean or not, since it's fuzz n all.
Oh, and in case you nein sprechen du deutsch, Eingang = input Ausgang = output.
