I've been listening to Venetian Snares and TTEOTD the past week or so.

Ever listen to Squarepusher and Aphex Twin (I would assume you have but it's worth a shot :idk: )

Yep, but not my favorite.

I was listening to Otto today too. My ex just saw him in concert recently, said it was interesting. Costumed people and sexual jestures the whole show. She turned me on to him years ago. Hated it at first. It was that Prince cover that got me. But Venetian...there's just something about the way he assembles dem drums that helps me think. Good driving music, keeps me alert.

Isn't that the whole point of making music--to get the noises out of your head and into real life?

yeah. i figure if it works on me it'll work on other folks. i don't save a loop unless it's interesting enough that i can let it run on the E2 for a half-hour or so and have it maintain the effect. in fact the ones i have on SoundCloud now got left on all night to test them as environments...i've always thought of music as an opportunity to make a little alternative reality you can go hang out in, which is to say that i can go hang out in.

This is a big reason why I play music. I feel like I'm creating my own reality in a sense. My goal is to be able to control a visual synth with whatever I'm making music with for an even fuller personalized alternative reality.

Since the band isn't getting together, I'm not playing. I need to change that.

I have a hard time peeing standing up if my hand isn't resting on something.
So I usually do it with my palm against the wall, prisoner-style so nobody can smash my face into anything.

I'd really like to model for an art-class, but I'm worried that I'd get a boner immediately after taking off my robe.
