my friend Feather came to town last week because her Mom's 90th birthday party was on Sunday. i was her designated escort/minder/travel buddy, so i spent from Friday until now hanging out with her, taking her around to cool places, and generally trying to make sure she was as happy as possible. here we are just before i took her to the airport.

i am so happy i got to spend time with her...she and her husband live near Sacramento so it was a real rare blessing to have her. i played Heima by Sigur Ros on the way there and back as we drove around the perimeter road in the gorgeous golden sunset. as i was driving home, for the first time in a long, long while i was crying not because i was sad Feath was going home but because i was so happy to have had our time together.
