Too many to list! What sort of sound are you going for? Fat? Trebly? Sustaining? Gritty? Oscillating? Gated? Synthy? Tight? Able to handle chords well? Pure wall-of-sound? Washy? Is there a particular clip or video you can reference?

If you don't give specifics, we're just gonna rattle off our favorite fuzz boxes... and we've ALL got a LOT of favorites.

All right, you asked for it! :p

From my personal experience (and in no particular order), my favorites include:
McSpunckle Gnomeratron VTF
Foxx Tone Machine (clone)
Fuzzhugger Great Wall
Blackout Musket
Burns Buzzaround (out of production, but a few builders make clones, including Arc Effects over in the Shark Tank)
Ghost Warmjet
Devi Ever Cherry Pop
Devi Ever Ruiner
Devi Ever VFM (kind of close to the B:assmaster below, but different)
Malekko B:Assmaster (silicon, not germanium)
Mellowtone Wolf Computer
Rainger Fx Son of Freakenstein (though I really wish the volume control were on the outside of the enclosure)
Fairfield Circuitry Unpleasant Surprise
Proco Turbo Rat (with some kind of mods done, I can't remember what)
Smallsound/bigsound Blargg-o-tron-o-tron
Smallsound/bigsound Year 4545
Dan Dubblewe DAM Ezekiel clone
Dr. Scientist Elements (really more of a high gain [or low gain] distortion than a fuzz, but that's splitting hairs)

That I really want to try (and I know I'm missing a whole bunch):
ss/bs Fuck Overdrive
Mid Fi Demo Tape Fuzz
Mid Fi Peace Gun
ss/bs Polygrace
Arc Effects Big Green Pie
Dr. Scientist Frazz Dazzler
Dwarfcraft Devices Hair of the Dog
Dwarfcraft She-Fuzz
One of the PLL clones that's being worked on, probably the ss/bs version (so much more than a fuzz, yes, but the squarewave fuzz sounds pretty wicked)

That I really really want to try AGAIN (and I'm probably missing a few here, too):
ss/bs Mini
EQD Tone Reaper
BAT Black Forest
Idiotbox Blasteroid
Dwarfcraft Eau Claire Thunder

See? THIS is the problem. And that's my edited list!

Right now, if push came to shove and I had to whittle that down to a gigging board (which I'm in the process of doing right now), my dirt would probably go: EQD Talons -> Ezekiel Clone -> Blackout Musket. But that would be for a very specific band that (hypothetically) plays live. When it comes to my personal stash, I refuse to shrink that list above!

im partial to black arts myself
