^ I saw it right after I posted mine! The ending kind o lame, I realized when I turned the TF on I didn't know what setting to use so I started cycling. The time ran up on my camera so I missed all the fun shit. I may do another.

Re: INFANEM, Second Voice [NEWS]
BUMPIN an old thread
JUST got my first Second Voice...holy crap is this thing capable of some massive toanz! I jammed it for an hour yesterday...luv being able to blend in just a bit of the octave effect with the crushing fuzz...and the fuzz IS crushing!!!
It was hard to miss the footswitch pop and "taper" on the volume control (wish I'd found this thread before I bought, just so I'd had a heads-up) but neither are deal-breakers for what I paid. So here it is...is this a V1 or V2, and what's the difference(s)?

Could be V2 according to the color scheme. Exp in? Then V2 for sure.
Volume and bleed through of a Kind of phasey Sound were Adressed with the Update afaik.

No EXP in, and the volume issue and the subtle hissing phase-y effect are both there, so V1?
Has INFANEM updated any early verions for peeps, or is this even possible/worth it?

I like the octave down a bit more on V1. The V1 is more raw imho. So if The two issues don't disturb you, Stick with it. Exp on V2 is very nice though...
I don't think there is an update possible because it may be a a new pcb design... If i recall it correctly, Ken also stated somewhere that he is not updating the second voices.

Re: INFANEM, Second Voice [NEWS]
Yeah, thinking that v1 to v2 did indeed require new pcb design. Univalve noted most the issues Ken addressed but think he changed up the footswitch and extended the range control too.
I just barely preferred the sound of the v1 but the v2 revisions were worth it to me. That carrier bleed through drive me nuts and I love having the exp/CV capability.
Both the v1 and v2 CRUSHED the later Deluxe imo, no comparison. Sold that mutha, kept my v2, and patiently waiting for a LaoWiz PLLone.

I disagree, they couldn't do all of this

Yeah, I'm def not saying the earlier versions compare to the DLX in terms of feature set but in terms of guitar sonics, I much prefer the tone and range I get from the v1 or v2. No question.

^^^ I hear that. I have an irrational love of the early Boss pitch shifters (PS-2 / HR-2.) So primitive, relatively speaking, but I love them tones.

I Second that. New Second Voice dlx sucks Big time on guitar. But phantasmogorovich digs it though.

With guitar, the DLX just doesn't sound nearly as full or aggressive/mean/raw as the v1 and v2, esp when using the octave down setting which is my favorite. It's sorta dull and muffled sounding with little cut. The range control sucks too, not much range at all making the expression for that parameter pretty useless. I'm not a fan of the fuzz on it's own and the sub-octave setting is just meh. The filters seem cool but not with guitar, the frequency is just so narrow with that pedal whereas the v1/v2 can sound drastically different by simply turning the knobs.
Another thing, I know there were tons of complaints with the early SV due to the insane volume on tap and the limited taper to dial that volume in but the DLX actually comes up short on volume for me. I really gotta crank it to get the sounds I'm used to but I couldn't replicate what I hear from my current v2 so I sold it.
I'm sure with enough patience, others could get really cool sounds but I figure fuck it, I'll keep my v2 and get a PLLone. All good.

Interesting, thanks all for the info. Still haven't had an opportunity to wind it up at serious volume, but really digging what I've heard out of it so far...
