Thanks!! It sounds like some kind of twisted beast, dying, trying to escape a fuzzy forest. I believe for the first riff I had the treble set fairly low. I got a little overwhelmed and excited so I just start twisting knobs here and there, but I am going to some more experimentation and takes notes on the settings I really like. It is a lot to take in at once!! I have just been sitting in my hot room riffing with the cosmos.

I just recorded some random burzum riff and just noodled over it like a little guitar wanker but shiit it was fun to do!!! Its 5 different guitar tracks all with different cosmi settings.

Woah. Sounds kinda like when you yell into your pickups with super high gain and volume. From about halfway through it gets really human sounding. In an inhuman way. Sweet.

Thanks!! I have been using your spooky clean setting and its a wonderful one. Very pleasant to the ears. The treble knobs lets you really fine tune the darkness/brightness of your tone.

Doesn't the Clock knob basically function as a depth knob? I haven't explored mine completely yet(school), but that seems to be what it does for me.

Edit:
fungalattack wrote:Just got the zombies in!!! WOOOOOOTTT!! this is a win. I recorded some drastically different settings and some riffs I improvised. I have only scratched the surface but I will continue exploring the deepest reaches of the cosmic realm. I used a fz-2 for the fuzz and a monarch. The last riff sounds so awesome with the fuzz and rich, lush chorus. :thumb:

I think that you may have convinced me to get an FZ2.

Awesome clips, Matt! Way to embrace the weirdness!

I pondered a depth control for the Cosmichorus and I'll tell yous why I decided against it.. a depth control is a variable resistance to ground on the oscillator output, it basically just diminishes the size of the modulating waveform that you drive the clock with, diminishing the clock's driving of the BBD, making the effect more subtle.

With the Cosmi, a depth knob just seemed like another way to make the effect milder.. but you can already make the effect very subtle with the mix control and clock abilities so I felt that a third way to make it more subtle was maybe over-complicating it and not really worth the knob real estate.

Anybody got any suggestions on using the Cosmi to cop the chorus sound of a Roland Jazz Chorus amp/CE-1? I was asked that today and I'm not sure how to set a Cosmi to sound like that, never heard those in person and can't really say exactly how they sound...

This is off the top of my head Ryan but it would be clock switch in the middle. Clock all the way to the left. There is no Depth on the Cosmi but is on the CE-1. The Cosmi is pretty similar otherwise if you set the Clock right.

I really have to record some clips of the sounds i've been into... I've never done it before, so I always forget about it. haha!

awesome stuff guys. I use this pedal more and more every time I go to the space to jam.

I have it set up so all of my pedals run through one of my amps and one cab, and my other amp is clean with another cab. Sounds so cool, especially with this pedal!

That's an awesome demo, Matt! Love the weird sounds! Love the tones too, you're really good at pedals and guitar, buddy. What amp is that through?

Glad to hear you're still liking it Josh, thanks again!

Massively multi-threaded communication haha!

The amp is a Lab Series L11, an old 200 watt solid state head that was made quasi famous by Ty Tybor. You can get quite nice overdrive out of it but I use it 100% clean. It's quite a dark amp so it responds well to the added harmonic content you get from fuzz and distortion. It lacks the chime you get with a tube amp, but it's really nice. I think some of the caps are dying though. Never worked with AC voltage, so we'll see if I end up trying to replace the caps myself or not.

Another thing is the cab is loaded with Eminence Texas Heat speakers, which I think are miles better than Celestion V30s. Tighter lows and a more natural mid, which is especially nice with the Elements as you can crank the mids without it sounding honky.

I've asked you that before haven't I! It sounds really cool, you ever show us a pic of it? 4x12 cab? I'm debating a cap change on an old amp too and I'm not familiar at all with amp repair... let's go for it buddy!

Just got back from a weekend tour. At least two people were like what makes that waaawaaaeaaaeaeeooowooooowAa sound? And I was like Cosmichorus motherf'ers! Haven't yah heard of dr. Scientist? And they were all like nooo and I was all like you best look into - dr sci is a supreme dude of dudes.

But really people liked the chorus tones a lot and the megalith, too. I used the hold function on the cosmi for some wicked mangling of feedback and solos. Well a quarter of my solos are feedback placed meticulously/sloppily throughout. The cosmi is no joke. It delivers. It does what it does extremely well and so much more!!

For those interested, I used a Cosmichorus for some of the guitar one this and I think it really helped create a cool atmosphere for the whole thing. I think I have a picture of the preset somewhere.
