Thanks for the props. Nothing but bolt-on partscasters, really. A few templates, a few tools and a few beers can lead to some interesting results. Haven't really built anything in about 2 years, but I'm sure I'll get the itch one of these days.

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
Threw a black anodized pickguard on my Antigua Tele today. I prefer it to the body colored burst guard plus that Antigua guard is actually painted so I figure may as well preserve it.

BKP Blackguard Flat 50's will be here next week, high output singles that are supposed to bring the hugeness, plan wire 'em up with the 4-way switch mod. Also have a satin nickel Callaham bridge plate and enhanced compensated saddles to install along with matching satin nickel knobs.
As for that Callaham, if you haven't tried one on a Tele and you get the chance, do! They're incredible, basically the same to a Tele as the Mastery is to a Jazzmaster/Jag imo. I held onto one that was installed on my old Tele cuz I knew I'd want it if I ever got a new one.
Way thicker steel so it makes far better contact with the body whereas the flimsy stock bridge likes to arch from the tension. The end result is better contact with the body and significantly increased resonance and sustain, hard to believe until you try it. That said, if you want your Tele sounding snappy and old school, you probably wouldn't dig the Callaham. The enhanced saddles are great too as they eliminate all intonation problems and keep the strings from hopping all over the place like they do with the standard threaded saddles.

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
oooooo ANTIGUA! I love that finish man!
I just showed you my best guitars. Well now it's time for my worst. My brother gave me a beater Epiphone SG and that's what I started playing on. It didn't take long to figure out it was a toy for children so after I started getting better guitars around here I decided to hack on it. I only ever use the neck pickup on any guitar and it seemed natural for me to remove the bridge one and throw a silicon Fuzz Face in there. The top two knobs control the neck pickup like on any SG and the bottom two are Fuzz Face controls now. This is VERY early in my pedal building development so don't laugh too much at the wiring please
It's our old bass player in the video so you can laugh at that all you want. Also I shoulda cleaned that volume pot before taking the vid but hey...

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
^ Fucking right D-Day, that's an awesome little mod right there! I love some of the Frankensteining that goes on here.
Thanks man, me too! Seems we're in the minority when it comes to liking it tho, Antigua finish catches a lot of hate for sure.
Those Yamahas are super badass! The same local mom n' pop shop that sold me the Antigua Tele has an Anniversary model on the wall that's been there for two years cuz they won't come off the super high price. It's this sexy dark brown burst finish, all satin or hand oiled, not sure which but it feels like actual wood minus the gloss and I love that.
I've played it every time I stop in there, weighs a goddamn ton but it feels and sounds so good, better than any SG I've ever owned. Sadly, I cannot get these fuckers to budge on price cuz it was a limited run blah, blah, blah. Think it was around $2600 last time I was there which is ludicrous.
I took my money and threw it at a custom EGC Chessie instead but I still kinda long for that Yamaha....

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
Got back home yesterday and immediately started working on my Jagar. It'd been bugging me for a while and looked kind of sloppy so I ordered a new pickguard before I left and installed it. Got the Phat Cat that was in my Telemaster back from Ancient, was going to do Phat Cat in the neck and humbucker in the bridge but I decided against it and blocked out the neck humbucker part of the pickguard with remnants of the old pickguard. Dropped the Phat Cat into the bridge, wired it directly to the volume pot, sounds perfect. I really love the Phat Cat sound. Strung it with cobalt .12's and a wound .22 G. Might end up ordering another new pickguard since I decided to go bridge only, but I dunno. It's my thrasher guitar so it's got some charm to it
