Let's talk hollowbodies
So...what are some cheap options (under $500) for humbucking/p90 hollowbodies, preferably with a trem of some sort. I like thin necks.
Vintage epiphone rivieras and hagstrom vikings pop up for under $500.
Good deals?
Something better?
I don't buy new unless it's some crazy like 50% off sale.

Xavier at Guitar Fetish makes Hollow bodies and they just started putting up reviews of their products on youtube too.

I'm a fan of an Epiphone Dot, if you can play it before enough buy.

Hey! Let's talk about serious thing. We're gonna talk about guitar, dude.

Harmony Rockets with gold foils are awesome. Also, older Ibanez 335 and 339 copies are killer.

Re: Let's talk hollowbodies
This. I got a Teisco 335 knockoff for $20 on craigslist last year, and it's a super guitar. Really fast neck, and the pickups sound better than most of the hollowbodies I've played.Greenfuz wrote:http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VINTAGE-TEISCO-EP-10T-SEMI-HOLLOW-BODY-ELECTRIC-GUITAR-335-COPY-NR-CLEAN-RARE-/200912977270?pt=Guitar&hash=item2ec758bd76&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_1283

Daaamnnn I'll have to keep my eye on craigslist then. For some reason I thought all those old Teiscos had repurposed baseball bats for necks.

Some of them do and some of them aren't such great quality, but the one Greenfuz posted looks pretty good.futuresailors wrote:Daaamnnn I'll have to keep my eye on craigslist then. For some reason I thought all those old Teiscos had repurposed baseball bats for necks.

This is Canadian Ebay; just thought I'd point that out.Greenfuz wrote:http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VINTAGE-TEISCO-EP-10T-SEMI-HOLLOW-BODY-ELECTRIC-GUITAR-335-COPY-NR-CLEAN-RARE-/200912977270?pt=Guitar&hash=item2ec758bd76&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_1283

Uh,...Washburn makes Hollow/Semihollows but I'm not seeing anything with vibrato and I don't know what sort of quality you can expect.
In that price range I immediately thought Epiphone. I've seen Casino reissues used for 7 bills; and they are very cool seeming P-90 equipped guitars (but no vibrato). You'd have to come up on your budget or be willing to haggle/hustle/trade.

That's what I was originally keeping an eye out for, them older Epiphones.
I mean, I could slap a Bigsby on pretty much anything. So hawt.

Re: Let's talk hollowbodies
I've encountered some damned nice Ibanez Artcores, and they tend to have pretty skinny necks.

^^^ This. I scored an 80's Ibanez AM-50 for $600 with OHSC in near mint condition a few summers ago. One of the nicer playing guitars that I have, most definitely. Slim fast neck for sure. Pretty gorgeous guitar.

A used Schecter Corsair. Some come with a Bigsby, they have coil splitting, and the neck is one of the most comfortable guitar necks I've ever played.
