That can be exemplified by not just the TedTalk but by the hugely successful Kickstarter campaign, the new band's origins, and their wide-reaching touring schedule. The songs that are on the album feel extremely polished, but also real and natural.
slightly OT:
i asked you on some thread around here what you thought of the semaphore over the GK, but i can't remember which. maybe you missed it too

what's the verdict?
Oh yeah, I was going to write something up for you today, but I forgot. Here's my thoughts:
It's definitely an improvement over the GK3. Where the GK3 was hard and rhythmical, the Semaphore blends into your playing effortlessly. Even with high depth settings on the square waveform, the sound is still full and rich. It's got a syrupy lushness to it that I just couldn't get with the GK3. The boost function is wonderful sounding, which makes me think the dry signal, the audio path of the Semaphore, is a little more natural and amp-like. The GK3 felt more like a tool for making creative and percussive music, which is why I hope I'll never have to sell it, while the Semaphore is simply a modulation effect that adds dimension and depth to your tone.
The Shape knob is more useful than I thought it would be. All those waveforms are really useful to have as well, and the fact that you can use an expression to dial in either the depth or speed is awesome. You can't do both at the same time, but I don't know if I'd find a use for that permanently or not. The subdivisions are effective when dialling in the right speed quickly, although I wish they were on a rotary knob rather than a smooth clickless one.
Overall I'm happy. I still would like to try the Cusack, Empress and Diamond models, but that'll be for another time. So far I'm inspired to play more with this pedal, and that's what I love about tremolo.

Also, I really liked the concept of that new Gibson midtown, but fuck that shit they're making fretboards out of these days. That killed it for me. That and the price. That guitar retails for near $3k in my town and just looking at it...its just not finished to that standard. Also I've had good experience with the gotoh tuners, but I've only used Schaller stop tails before. They make good stuff either way.
Actually, I was pining for a neck through sg and the only thing I could find was an incredibly obscure lawsuit era knock off that was made in Japan and marketed to Canada. I think the name on the headstock was Mann (?) BUT the manufacturer was still ishibashi.
Fuck I wish windhand would come down here. And cough need to come back cause I missed em last time.
Haven't watched that vid on extinction yet but definitely gonna suss it later.
This dead guy...I mean, I'm an atheist, but if there are any more holidays to he had for dead dudes, festivals of the moon, water or to celebrate the end of periods of fasting, whatever, bring em on, ill take em. It is the responsible thing to do in a secular society.
There is nothing stopping you from looking for the right Gibson in your own time, but I wouldn't personal recommend buying one without trying first. It's just not worth the hassle, in my opinion. You might fall upon a great one, but the chances are you won't. Just keep your eyes and ears to the ground. You'll probably find the perfect one someday, just maybe not from Zzsounds.com online store.
