anyone else here have problems at shows being forced to turn down your amp and being unsatisfied not driving your amp to delicious gain?

Definitely my favourite from them. Great album.

Yeah, and sadly I've got at least 18 years until those problems move out....
Nah I love my kids, but I do miss cranking it. Although, my amp doesn't really get that dirty at high volumes, so I opt for pedal based gain. But yeah, something special happens when you can take your power tubes out for a run.
I call it flavor country.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
hey ryan, that tascam sounds pretty damn impressive man.
Also, I got home about an hour ago, and there was a box on my front step...and in that box was another dimension, an entire forest of blackness!
And I've been destroying my hearing with it ever since. Sounds killer on its own and awesome boosting the monarch, couldn't ask for anything more. Plus it really has a huge variety of tones you can pull out of it, I'm thoroughly impressed...and sassified. And holy shit, does it have balls! Giant hairy man-pedal balls.
Thanks Shannon!

i know everyone here hates these amps and will discount my opinion based on the fact that i mention one, but, i used to have and old two channel dual rectifier, which i still stand by as being a good amp. that shit sounded great when dialed in right, which takes practice. but i never used the tube rectifier option on it. didn't sound near as good to me as the solid state rectifier with a high power high gain situation.

Ethan from CTTOAFF/Primitive Man uses (I think) a dual rec, and the guitar on that Primitive Man album sounds like time and space collapsing, in the best way.

Certainly the most unique band in Seattle and the only band you could call 'noise rock' that features ACTUAL NOISE
So I've only seen them once, but I like to scope out bands before shows and see what to expect. With these guys what I expected and what actually went down were two totally different things. I think this may be a band you have to see to appreciate. I fucking loved it but... holy weirdo trip into bizzaro land. I'll definately go check em out again, especially with what D is saying about how its always different. I can see how they could occasionally fall on their faces with a rotating cast and mostly improv material. But fuck if thats not doing it on the edge I don't know what is. It's gotta be mad fun for them too
Fucking glad the DR has again prevailed and is back to discussion of rad shit.
Digging the Totemoshi *sp?
Started wiring the new pedlol and fucked it all up. Think I have it sorted but had to go get a whale put on my arm so maybe I'll have it done in a few days.
Drummer shit is getting weird. had a long talk with the dude tonight. I don't know if he'll be around long term. for now we are going with a fresh slate and hopefully no more MTV real world shit. I have a low tolerance for that. I mean, just say whats up and we'll all deal with it right? I don''t need to discuss butthurt for an hour.
I'm hoping it can work out because he really is pretty talented.
On the rectifier issue. My understanding was that it has minimal effect on the tone of an amp. Mesa's "dual rectifier" is mostly a marketing gimmick (voodoo) those are great amps, but not because of how the power is handled. I may be all confuzzed on that. I am still learning.

I was jamming with a dude who used a dual rec for electric wizardy shit. sounded tops. i like em too for that woody weatherman kinda vibe.
EDIT: because I didn't read shit properly the first time...
I agree with you that they can sound good, but now that I think about it I'm not sure if he was using the tubes or the diodes.
And for AxSxSxS, yeah, I was going to say (but my post got eaten by a technical gremlin) I think I can detect a difference, but you're probably right, its probably just a "mojo thing".
