Getting some great tubey tones out of the Meatsmoke. Thinking I need something that pushes the tubes to break up. Maybe a cool little overdrive like a Mercy Phuk or SS/BS Mini running into it would work. The Meatsmoke is always on so I guess it's like I've now changed to a tube rig. Thoughts? What's a good boost/dirt pedal to push tubes?

Two come to mind; MXR/CAE Boost-Line Driver (clean boost) and a BDPG (dirty boost).

Random time - my new fave pedal name has to be the W&C Mercy Phuk.

Take your favorite distortion, turn the gain all the way down and the volume all the way up. :thumb:

That sounds like a good low budget approach. I'll try that with my Basstortion or Elements. Thanks!

Dood, if you have an Elements then you already have the solution.

Yeah mate. Only got it last week when one popped up locally. I'm still figuring it out and was really only playing it at high gain settings - because it sounded awesome. Will try it at the front of my chain at low gain next. It's a killer pedal!

Thanks Guys!
MarkBass SuperSynth>IE XeroDLX expression controlled>Mobius (I used a Phaser on one part and a Filter on there for another)>PitchFactor>Koma Elektroniks BD101 (for the last half when it gets all gated)

I forgot to switch from the setting I had on the PitchFactor to a delayed 3rd, it makes a sweet pad.
