probably.... maybe.... hopefully! And yes, yes you do. As well as acquire a 2x15 or two...

Guess I could try to offload this legend and try to acquire another BigBen. Id rather not speaker mix the 2x15s. I will also probably hold off on them for now tho.

I don't think mixing the 2 15's would net you any benefit, I think your right to sell it and acquire another big ben.

how exactly does the split humbucker work? im kind of debating between a coil tapped p90 in the bridge of a TM (using a tele HB bridge) or a split humbucker.

I can attest that Broadcaster/Nocaster/Esquire pickups are the shit. I really miss my Telecaster for that sound, despite the guitar having some serious issues otherwise.

Anyone have any recommendations for .11-?.54? (around there preferrably in the .52-.56 range) strings with a wound G. I've been using EB Beefy Slinkys for a long time now and just don't get along with the G (which is a pretty common complaint), and I've tried .11-.52 DR's and they are too dark for me. I like some brightness and a lil snap in my strings. So what say ye Doom Room?

Like the one I put in the TM? It's really just a HB but they split the exposed screws, which then allows you to adjust their level and subsequently independent string volumes. The difference is that with the exposed screws on the treble side closer to the bridge you can bring out more brightness in the top three strings to balance out the tone and help with cut and clarity, while having the bass side ones closer to the neck allows for a thicker more natural tone. This is just my impression though, the actual reason why they did it may be very different. Or were you talking about coil split HB's?

But their .12's and the rest of the string gauges are a bit heavier then I'm used to as well... .11's are about as heavy as I like to go for E standard.

I'm probably just gonna keep the EB Beefy Slinkys and buy a bunch of wound G's to go with them. It's $5.46 per set to do it that way from juststrngs, sounds like a wiener. No intonation or setup changes and I can get the gauges I want.

cool.

i could basically get it if i sell my Zakk Wylde Epi...and still have a little cash left over for a good drop tune setup...its very very tempting, and it looks really nice too:

I had that same guitar. Looks way better in person than in the pics and it plays and sounds amazing. If I had extra cash I'd be buying one again. One of the few guitars that I really miss.

Thanks to everyone that weighed in on the 15s with suggestions and advice. All y'all are awesomo! Thanks to Ancient Astronaut for the software linkage too. I'm gonna have a fiddle with that in a sec.
I use EBs. I don't have too much hassle with the g, but I figure the overall sound is worth having to tune it more frequently.

I'm seriously contemplating selling my Soldano. I want to keep it and know I will probably regret getting rid of it but I haven't played it but a hand full of times in the past 8 or 9 months. I just love that 2204 / Revelation combo so much. Anyway, what do you guys think is a fair asking price for the head and road case? The amp is in perfect condition since it has been in the case ever since I got it. No issues other than the foot switch has velcro and a few scratches.

EDIT:

I paid $2400 for the head and $250 for the roadcase.

Speaking of Soldano I was just over there paying Mike back the five bucks I owed him. Russ was working on some fancy shit.

If you've got about $5500 you can get a snaked out SLO with all of your standard publicly available mods.

I really want to borrow an Avenger for awhile. Homeboy from The Valley (our original lead guitar guy) has been rockin one and while I haven't seen them live lately by all accounts he is sounding better than ever.
