If you ever get a chance to see a band called Antikythera live, take it, you will be way stoked, bassist combines an orange folded horn 15 with one of the inward angled Sunn 6x12s, room gets quite thick.

That can't be right. An original '68 SG for $1800?

From what I can tell the place knows their guitars...not sure if there is any past voodoo on the guitar depreciating value...but it looks all original and pristine, but yeah they definitely have it priced at 1800:

I don't know what it is but I guess by comparison I am pretty private about my gear. Anyhow while talking to Nick we got on Telemasters. I've had this body for months and I'm slowly getting together the other bits. I'm still on the phone with Nick but I'll tell more later if you want.

Yeah something seems wrong...i'll pry and try to find out what...its probably a 78 or something...ive noticed guitar shops in CA tend to like to add a couple years to the instrument life, even got kicked out of a local shop recently for proving that what the owner said was a '72 was actually a '78...guess im bad for business :idk:

Could the fact that it doesn't have a rare proprietary gibson trem or weird setup like the ones you posted? I could imagine depending on the rarity those might add a lot to the value.

This could be the case, but I highly doubt it's going to equate to such a vast difference in price. What's more possible is it being a '68 reissue. Maybe it was made in 1995 as a reissue of the '68 era Gibson SG. Or it could have basically no original hardware/parts and simply be a block of wood from the 60's, and be really badly looked after. Either way it looks awesome and a guitar I've been looking into myself. I've been Jonesing after a Japanese SG with P90's, but they're hard to come by.

Okay all my phone calls are done! So that thing is ash with a spalted korina top. I got it off ebay for $150. I'm going to stain it (trans tint dye really) a dark olive green and oil it up. I'm hoping to have an aluminum neck on it but lol, $750 from Electrical. Anybody got any aluminum neck advice? I can eventually come up with bread like that but I'd prefer to spend less if it's an option. I wired up a Tele for our singer in a really cool way and I'm going to do this the same. Just a bridge pickup. I forget the Seymour Duncan model name/number but it's a tapped one. So three position switch. Front is tapped output through tone and volume controls. Middle is hot output through tone and volume controls. Back is hot output straight to the jack. This thing is going to SCREAM

duncan has a few models where you can do that kind of coil tapping for lower and higher output off the same single coil

I'm definitely going to try the same as his first. I like the sound of a Tele but his is my favorite ever. He's got SUCH A TONE with his Ape Blaster and Bassman 100 half stack (for his other band).
