Any reason why you're not rocking something like a Taurus/other foot usable noise box with wood paneling for that stuff? (You'll have to forgive me, I'm synthtarded).
oof. i'd like to, but real Taurus stuff is way too expensive and heavy, i thought i had a line on a company that sold the guts for midi controlled stuff so i could get a midi pedalboard thinger built like the Taurus but to use with other gear, they just stopped answering emails after saying i was in the order queue.
soooooooo.... only way i could figure out to do some synthy keyboard piano toanz stuff was a little key thinger for an off hand. DURP I AM.
Chiefy. i talk no poop about other musicians. but i don't have the faintest clue who that is.

Behndster - The Roland PK-5 is basically the Taurus pedals without the built-in synth, and it outputs midi. I mean, it's still a bit expensive, but nowhere near as expensive as an actual Taurus.
And the caped bass avenger there is Chris Squire, the bassist from Yes.
lol. i had that thing for a hinute. fucking. USELESS. it's a really cool idea, but it's so damn tiny. the entire thing is about the size of my foot. i don't know what 3 foot tall magic pixie they use for their vid demo, but i want to spend Inside Nekid Time with it.
plus, it only has a USB out. the IO Dock right now only takes a MIDI in, so i'd need to bring a USB->MIDI box too. which i have, it's just moooooore stuuuuuuuuf. i'm trying for as simple a setup as possible.
i. am. LAZY.

I say smart, too much stuff is always a risk, especially without a tech and redundancy in the set-up.
urg. yeah man. in some cases, tiny redundant options help like BUTTS. i have two fuzzes on my main board section for the different TOANZ, but i've had gigs where one or the other got weird on me. in sections where No Fuzz would sound like butt. Butt Fuzz? No Fuzz? you mean ASS FUZZ. DICK. having an extra to go to hellllllps.
I, too, have moved to simpler things. I've shed all the amazingly blaringly overoptioned things like the Megalith (way too much for a band setting) and gone back to the TAFM (just right).....from the Timeline to a Sunny Day Delay.....Boomerang III to a reg looper....all those options were better, but all of the options actually dampened my creativity. Too much. And some of the pedals have gotten into ridiculous extremes that I just couldn't get playable sounds out of.
Simple is my new thing.
The only complex guys on my board are the Mobious and Second Voice Deluxe. Those are great pedals but I find myself using them the least because of all the fiddling I'd have to do.
I agree that simplicity can lead to more creativity, especially when finding workarounds to somethings limitations.
So I posted a bunch of synth stuff for sale. Putting in my 2 week notice and having an emergency root canal yesterday forced my hand there. Whatever. Behndy is hooking me up with a Korg MicroSampler to try out and I think I can do what I want with it and the Tempest only (and bass/pedals, OF COURSE) to Behndy and to my all my homies.
I am glad I had the funds to take care of the emergency tooth situation yesterday. I will miss that synth stuff but I am just plain glad to not hurt right now. I was rolling the dice on this teeth deal for a bit, hoping to make it until insurance kicks in next month. I have a bit more work to do on my teeth and at least insurance will help with all of that. I am feeling a lot of gratitude to just not hurt like have been.

It always perplexes me that the AMP and BASS forums on TB stay more active than the effects one. It's like.....what in the fuckitty fuck fuck can you talk about that shit so much with? I've owned four amps in my close to two decades of playing....three basses.....6 cabs......countless pedals. But really.....it all people bullshitting over stuff they've heard fifth hand about gear and very very few first hand accounts on shit since the average person can't possibly have played on most of the shit they post about on there.
Fucking effects all day every day. All up in the expression jack. That's where it's at.
Woof. Root canals. Fuck that shit. My FiL is the only endodontist in the area and he would pull some kind of Little Shop of Horrors shit on me if he had me on a table.
Serious. One of my greatest fears is a procedure like that; thanks to a somewhat traumatic dental experience when I was in 3rd grade or so, I still SERIOUSLY fear the dentist.

We need to be on there. Like. We could have one. Ask the ILFTBers. And we can tell people that their puny mass brand pedals are puny. And suck. We can reign on high. We could rule the galaxy. Together. BWhahahahahaha.
