Just got a new amp. Had my eye on these awhile now, each one is spec'd slightly different, $625 shipped. Just got the fatty tax return, finally said fuck it.

Hovercraft Dwarvenaut 20W. 2xEL84, sounds thick as shit, described as a Sunn Model T hi gain circuit mashed with some Matamp for good measure. This particular build is closest to the one featured in youtube demo below but has an added FAC control for more flexibility. Controls on the front include gain/bass/mid/treble/master/HF drive.

Can't wait to check this one out!

Ha! You got #53 I just spent my bonus on Dwarvenaut #51, the black one with a white faceplate instead of polished.

Would be super cool to compare the tones of the two. They should be close but everything he builds has a bit of a different flavor.

No FAC on mine seems to be the biggest difference between the two.

Modded Geoffs Fac Boost



Since his giant clumsy foot broke the last one I installed a momentary stomp switch which engages the pedal at maximum boost for as long as you hold down the pedal. So it can be off and go to max boost or be on and go to max boost. Also added a 7th position for full boost, all frequencies.

I really like that white faceplate too, looks sharp. Honestly, I'm just glad to get one with a full faceplate, period. Looks so much better than plain ol' Jet City chassis, shit looks pro now! Glad the plate on mine is brushed too, not big on chrome so that worked out nicely.

He did mention that no two sound the same but I'm betting they wouldn't be far off. He said mine was maybe the loudest of the bunch thus far so that was good news.
