Alternatives to the Trogotronic Iron Cross?

Post by erector »

Been thinking recently about how this would be an incredible addition to my tabletop (harsh) noise setups... route one input into four different pedal chains and switch between them with a flick of the joystick, go all Sickness-style cut-up noise, etc etc etc. HOWEVER, at nearly $300 including shipping to Malaysia, it's, how shall we say, expensive, and I was wondering whether there's anything out there that does something like the Iron Cross, except, y'know, cheaper? The 1-input-to-4-outputs functionality is essential for what I want to do with it, so those passive arcade button mute boxes (like this) that I occasionally see people building aren't what I'm looking for.

Thoughts? Or should I just try and sell some stuff and get the Trogo?

Note that it doesn't have to be a joystick. I don't mind arcade buttons.
Jerk Kerouac (harsh noise)
Kalimantan (improv not-jazz shambles)
ZDICM (space-drone-synth-thing)

The old one. Nice. I don't think it'd be too complex to build yourself. Parts would be 70 at the most I'm guessing. Joystick and all. If you are not sure how to DIY it I have not helped you at all and have wasted your time. Sorry.
