Misterstomach and I saw the bass player in one of the bands opening for Dark Castle using a Klon. I can't remember the name of the band though.

Holy Schnikes wrote:Went to Chicago this weekend to hang out with the Emperor dudes and pick up my new 1x12 loaded with a 100W Axis12 (Fane clone). As always, it was tons of fun, love when it's time to go up there and grab a cab and some beers. Gonna pair it with my other 1x12 loaded with a Weber 65 to complete my Orange OR15 baby stack. This will serve as one half of my baby stereo rig.

I let 'em surprise me with the finish, gave a couple simple ground rules on what I wasn't looking for, that's about it. Turned out incredible, a classy 3-tone burst from light walnut to auburn to chocolate brown with salt n' pepper grill cloth. Nice walnut accent on the face as well. Was pretty floored when I first laid eyes on it, gorgeous!

I'll get a chance to let it rip tomorrow at the jam spot, excited!

My Ampeg GVT15H plus Emperor vert 2x12 loaded with Legacy 100s makes up the other half of the baby stereo rig. They compliment each other so well, the Orange being mean as fuck with tons of gain and minimal clean headroom (plenty of clean-ish headroom tho :thumb:). The Ampeg being the polar opposite, cleans for days. I can dime the gain and master and it's still pretty much all clean when running those two 100W speakers, spectacular pedal amp!

Here's the Orange stack all ready to roll...

And finally, here's the Ampeg I'm pairing with it....

Oh my... someone get the ice.

sergiomunoz74 wrote:Someone offerings their arc effects klone for my big green pi. I hear it's a good clean boost but at the same time, I lose some hardcore cred by having some ridiculously overhyped overdrive pedal. What does everyone else thinks?

I like the builder for Arc Effects, he seems pretty cool, unlike some companies who have cloned the Klon. I say go for it if you know it's what's right for your sound. The Klon is a great boost, but I personally would choose the Rangemaster/Treble Booster over it. The Klon is quite shimmery and sweet in comparison. Although it boosts the front-end nicely, it doesn't grind as much as something, for example, Mark from BAT would produce.

Okay now I have more than one choice,

Fix'd fuzz
original twosome plus 50 bucks (on my side)
Klone

if I could find a trade for the big muff that was specifically for a rangemaster, I would but a las I can't seem to find one. The fix fuzz seems to speak to me as apparently it can be a slightly dirty boost.

also I really really want this odd beast http://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-Gibson-RD- ... 4ac1bef9e6
