Pelliot...nice Guitar. Those Ibanez's are beautiful
Angrygoldfish...thanks for the recommendation, i listened to a few demos of a Hexe Bit Crusher, i really dig it. i gotta look into it a bit more, and see how i can use it in the music I'm writing.
Skip...those tricks sound really good...especially like the second video.

Thanks! That song is called Brooklyn's Nightmare. It's an old song from before I joined the band that I learned the week before, it's alot of fun to play live!

The HEXE gear is fucking awesome. The guy who makes them is really quite clever. He can build some crazy custom shit. Hella expensive, though. A complex one-off pedal can come close to Strymon level.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Angry Goldfish I may know a JCM800 Bass with matching cab for sale down here for a good price, just waiting on my mate to get back to me on it.
In other news it seems my SC100 is not actually mine and I should have a SC120, I find this out two days after the 100 died so it's probably meant to be. Now though I fallen in love with the sounds from the 100 so very tempted to strip out the 120 pre and put either a MK3 or DR103 pre in there. Any thoughts for me Nick?
Is that a Tone Knob Rat?

theres quite a few SC120 conversions to hiwatt DR103s. Certianly if you have the time and skill it can be done.

The JCM800 Bass Series I found is relatively local to me (it's about a two hour drive up North). The seller withdrew his listing months ago, but I noticed him offering it as trade bait, so he's obviously still got it and trying to let go of it for the right reasons. He might only want to trade. The problem is, he hasn't returned my PM yet.

I'll Pm you on this one once I hear, I'm sure getting to Sligo or at least Letterkenny wouldn't be too difficult.

I can find the time and I should have the skills. I've found tag board layouts for DR103 pres on the hiwatt.org page too. Obviously plenty of learning to do along the way but be a good project to learn on I think. Not looking for an exact hiwatt either just close enough will do..

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
hiwatt is kind of like an orange or a matamp, the entire system is kind of the sound. The DR103 pre is most likely not going to get it since the pre in and of itself is not remarkable different from a marshall

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Oh, cool. A matching cabinet might be nice, though I doubt I'll be able to afford it. I KNOW I won't, not unless I want to dig into my precious Dunwich fund.
