Oh shit. Started playing Civ 5 today at 5pm, didn't stop till 5am. That shit is addictive.

I fell off a cliff and died about 10 feet from the checkpoint I was looking for...after 40 minutes of fatasses with clubs and poison-shooting motherfuckers, in the middle of a pitch-black area that looks like post-hurricane Haiti followed by a poisonous swamp. Died with 42,000 bucks that I would have spent had I been able to find another fucking checkpoint anywhere.

Oh man, those poison dart shooting fucks are the worst. I got hit by one of those bastards recently and didn't have anything on hand to remedy the poison. Died as I was frantically trying to go through my inventory. Then died again as I was making my way back to my bloodstain. 65K+ souls and over 8 humanity gone. I was so angry haha

Did you enter Blighttown via the Depths? That place fucking sucks. Did you know there's a back entrance that's a little bit more forgiving?

Yeah, I went through the Depths. Heard about that back entrance, isn't it in the ruins underneath the starting area?
Dood, have you gotten the Stone Armor yet? Shit is AMAZING, with it equipped I can fight the Capra Demon one on one without even needing to get on the ledge above him. It's past that magic door in the forest by the blacksmith; you gotta pay him 20k souls to get the key but there are several armor sets in there, plus enemies that can be kicked off of the cliffs for an easy 7,000+, AND the bonfire is really close to them.

...but none of that actually matters 'cause I was playing the pirated game; just bought it for real today and have to make a new dude. It'll be like my fifth character, but I really don't mind at all. The online aspect is soooo awesome. I'll probably disconnect before going back into Blighttown though, fuck that.
I had a Black Knight Sword that was easily better than any other weapon up to that point, I'm really hoping one of 'em drops another this time.

Yeah, man. The co op and multiplayer are my favorite. Been joining alot of people's games and getting a ton of souls for helping defeat bosses in the early parts. I've got a shitload of characters created, as well. I'm currently trying to beat the game with a character below level 15. I think I'm up to 14 now and I'm at Sen's Fortress. It's starting to get tough. Not sure if I'll be able to swing it haha.

How far have you gotten in the game? That stone armor is very useful in a later boss battle. Heavy as fuck, though.

best xbox live purchase I've ever made. Pretty much a modern port of Elite but it's still so much fun to play. Games like this are why I'm slowly losing faith in AAA game devs to deliver. I feel like I'm a wee lad again browsing through all the wacky and esoteric games at EBs (remember those?) just to find that one gem of a game. If you dig space trader/combat sims that don't necessarily adhere to Newtonian physics, give it a go.

Just killed the butterfly, gotta go through Blighttown for completion's sake. Plus that whip. I went with Deprived but dunno what I want to put stats in right now. I've mostly been pushing STR/DEX/END and enough Faith to cast a spell.
A friend and I have been taking turns running through areas; it's good times. We even killed a couple of invaders. I tried invading the church wearing only the stone armor and two sets of brass knuckles, but couldn't find anybody
Good luck with that run, sounds like a nightmare...

Eh, gave up on that fight. I can't use the weapon he drops for another million levels anyway. Played for like four hours today and the only progress I made is one endurance point...

fuck Blighttown. Worst area of that game. It's also the only time in recent memory where video game sunlight has made me happy after being in that miserable place.

Died another few times in Blighttown, once to a poison shooter, once to a ledge, then when I finally reached the swamp I still couldn't find the bonfire since you can't see shit down there...
And because the only way to make it through the poison without having to wait forever in between islands is to equip shitty useless armor, I got two-shotted by the maggot things.
I thought I'd make a PVP character after beating the game, but the thought of ever having to do Blighttown again in my life makes me reconsider.

Aw Blighttown isn't that bad! It's fairly easy once you get an idea of what's coming your way. The bonfire is right around the corner from the elevator thing. Just hug the wall on the left. You can't miss it.

Also, it's best when poisoned to just keep moving. The swamp will poison you no matter what, unless you have the ring that makes you able to run in standing water....can't remember the name, but you get it when you go back to the Asylum. But yeah, rolling through the mud also helps. Being toxic is what really fucks you up. Those dart fuckers are the only ones I've come across that can make you toxic. Blooming purple moss on hand in your inventory is your friend in those situations. I learned that the hard way.

Unfortunately, I accidentally killed the trader in that area. I walked up to him and there was no context menu, so I backed up and shot him to death...bleh. He was in my way!
Are there any decent weapons up ahead? I ran into the fortress and laughed at the trap rooms right before getting killed by a gigantic snake thing. The Drake Sword served me well, but it's quickly becoming obsolete, and I haven't gotten a Black Knight Sword yet.
