I've got this beautiful new Dingwall bass sitting here, but something just does not sound right about it. God damn it. I'm thinking it may be the strings. I need to stop trying flats. Fuck me they suck. Every time I seem to forgot how much they suck. They kill the natural tone of the bass, my effects and my amp. They sound like mud or shit. I thought I like them, but the more I play them, the more I dislike the tone.
SO I pick up my cheap ass Jackson and go to town and have a ball doing it. Everything sounds better. Fuck.
I have my upright at my college, along with my Stingray and amp. New semester so we have a boatload of new songs to learn. I was pretty disappointed in myself all week on how they were sounding for the most part. Kinda boring and muddy, sloppy playing, and fairly discouraging. I know it'll get better, but I was pretty bummed when I was done with rehearsal the other day. So tonight I dedcided to pick up my old squier and beat up my old cheap ass dying practice amp.
So many new ideas and melodies came forth tonight. Something about comfortability i guess.

Here's a quick look at it. I have way better photos.
