lol. well.... YEAH. Dubstep is just like any faddy music genre, with the bonus problem of being electronic based. i like some of the things that they do a lot, i like hearing them repurposed into other music though.

Pretty sure DubStep is dead because I saw a group catergorized as Post-DubStep

Anyways, it sucks being a noob. I have an Elektron Octatrack (crazy-ass hardware sampler, almost Ableton in a box), I just got it. I have been mainly lurking on the Elektron-Users Forum, posting a bit but not much, learning the "Elektron Language". Well, I got stumped today, I had loaded samples, assigned them to tracks but couldn't trigger the tracks to make a "Scene". So I tried my best to not ask my question dumbly but I think I only half succeeded.

Still not as bad as "which order should I put my pedals in?"

 I knew it was dead when the guys I work with started listening to Ice Ice baby Dubstep remix and so I brought in "real" dubstep and they were like what the fuck is this techno-reggae stuff? :picard:

My boss is a real reggae head (has loads of records, used to make dub mixes, got to hang out and watch Scientist do his thing--allegedly and apparently, the guy uses three tables[!] to do so) and asked us "so, this dubstep thing..."

"No, dude, it has nothing to do with dub. It did, at one point, like seven years ago, but now its just transformer sex."

Oh my goodness yes. I may be moving to a "real" job, and if so, I'm gonna be all over the reissue with my single-dude real income money. This is actually the first bass I've seriously GAS'd over since I snagged my Casady.

I know :picard: Actually though... I am convinced that that sound came from the pod race thing in the first of the "new" suckwars movies...

Also from my personal experience... a lot people that like new dubstep i.e. skrillix [??] are the same very people that think nickelback ROXX!!!!!

But you know... maybe it's me... maybe it's dumb to think that gimmicks are more awesome then actual content... I know... I suck.

Oh lordy...I didn't need to see that vid. WANT!

String spacing looks a bit narrow, tho.

I'm trying to compare the vid bass with Casady's up there...it looks like Casady's may be a bit wider. Maybe.
