that looks like FUN.
tell me,
what are those mic pre amps with the vu meter like?
I have a similar recording pedal set up and really need something that can make my synth and bass sound descent direct.

it's a presonus bluetube. on top of that is an FMR RNC (really nice compressor) and some alesis FX box... not sure what the one to the right of that stack is. anyway, it's a decent little pre but nothing special IMO.

Yeah, direct to presonous tube pre -> compressor -> verb -> presonous interface. it's a more elaborate setup than I usually use and I could get things sound to my tastes. sometimes I play stuff back on speakers and record to get "roomness" and coloration. it's blasphemy I know, but it works for me. I live in an appartment so I can't always use the amps at any time.

the drum kick is there for the drum pad. it hits a trigger and I kick that way. appartment living is also the reason I don't use real drums. I quite like this electronic unit, though! can assign 4 different sounds per pad triggered based on velocity. very expressive! my drumming isn't really "punchy" anyway, so it's usually in the background.

guitar plugged into pedals. played with bow/ebow/scissors/whatever. nord synth for special effects.

this is strictly a recording setup, so everything isn't plugged into a mixer at all times. I just plug what I need when I'm laying down a track. my live setup is at a glance similar, but usually more minimal.

oh yeah the pres!

I like them a lot! I don't know much about pres nor have I used many of them, and I don't understand half the terminology when it comes to the science. but they're more than good enough for me. obviously they're low-mid range pres, but presonous are knopwn to be decent for the price, and it's way better than how I used to record (pedal out -> soundcard in)

any know of better line/mic pres for the sub $250-per-channel range? I often record more than 2 inputs at once so I'll need to get more. maybe I'll get something different.

the Alesis box is the reverb. I actually really like it! I like how shimmery it gets when it does 99% infinite decay and 100% wet. nice drones to be had. plus it's dirt cheap. I think I paid $80.
