Those wood grain kits on the last page are hella sexy. With drums, I lust after both wood grain and sparkle, every time.

If I could actually play drums, I'd have Emperor whip up something custom for realz...

I really want a cheap kit for the garage. Cheap as in, I'd be fine with letting the downstairs neighbor and his daughter wail on it if they want to (they're a musical family, which is awesome.) Suggestions? I see cheap Peavey (edit: Err, Pearl) student kits on CL all the time for around $250, depending on what it comes with.

Also, I dig the dark woodgrain look A LOT.

Best thread evarrr!!! Haha. Cool kits people. Not the best pick but here's mine. It's an old Ludwig kit from the late 80's I'm thinking. The picture is dark but the drum shells look like somebody took wood panelling off the walls and made them into drums.

Keep looking on CL until a used name brand comes up. I played a Pearl kit in HS that was a POS but they do make better ones.

Do you post on Drumchat? I'm pretty sure I remember a thread about you restoring these. Looks awesome, regardless!

That's Dave Turncrantz's vintage Gretsch kit before it was destroyed in a van crash.

Pretty sure the bass drum is a 26" single ply, sounds HUGE live and on record all while looking fantastic! :thumb:
