Ab-synth question

Post by Psyre »

Ok, so quick question. I just want to find out if this is normal ab-synth behavior, it's not a big deal honestly. However when I engage mine it takes about .5 seconds for the effect to start. Like it sort of ramps up, which means I can't exactly use it for a fast change of sound. Is that normal? It has been that way since I got it, and it has never been an issue but still.

This is normal for v1 and v1.5 AB-Synths.

It's the result of a mod done to avoid oscillation bleed-thru. (The AB-Synth has an atypical oscillation circuit, and no traditional oscillation pot to ground.) I'd always said this was worth the trade-off, so you don't have weird noises bleeding into your bypassed tone.

v2 doesn't have the fade-in / ramp up...and also doesn't have oscillation bleed-thru. If you want instructions on how to mod it for the new bypass (or want me to do it), email me! :)

Thanks so much Tom, you'll be getting anemia from me soon.

iPad corrected email to anemia, but it works too.

 I'll take the email, no thanks on anemia, or an enema.

 It's a very early custom AB-Synth. Dual fuzz modes, a bypassable BMP tone circuit, a Voice toggle, I think...
I made it for a great guy named Jeff.
