One spot + plugs for my pedals that need them
and no not really, not enough for it to bug me. The most noise I ever get is from single coil guitar pick ups

Re: Recommend me a reverb pedal?
I have been using onespots forever and have had no noise problems even when I had an RRR
Currently super impressed with the TC Arena i just picked up and the Special Edition Hardwire from PGS both sound good and as much as I love the boutique builders they don't do trails.

Re: Recommend me a reverb pedal?
Chet - if you can hear the difference between noise from your pickups, and noise from your pedals, then you'll notice when you need a pedal to be isolated (on the other hand it's impossible to describe to someone who doesn't differentiate different types of noise) . You'll hear it because when you add a pedal that doesn't play nice with others it'll either raise the noise floor in other pedals, or will introduce ticking or other artifacts. In that case you can solve it by isolating it from the other pedals.
When you daisy chain pedals (as you do on a 1spot) they share a common ground. Because of the power supply filtering, or the current consumption characteristics of some pedals/components they can create extra noise through the ground. If the pedal is on an isolated ground it doesn't matter because that noise can't go and affect other pedals. But a a noisy pedal that is daisy chained will affect all the pedals on the chain (as they all share a common ground). Again, depending on the specific pedals you have daisy chained (how much gain they have, what sort of power supply filtering they have etc) it may or may not be a problem. That's why the same pedal, on the same power supply, can create noise problems for some people but not others.
So the moral of the story is a 1spot is a great power supply - cheap, quiet and awesome. Roll with it until you introduce a pedal where you notice you have a problem, then either get a second 1spot and run just that pedal on it, or get a Cioks or a PP2.

Makes sense to me, thanks for being so detailed and informative.

Re: Recommend me a reverb pedal?
I must say, i'm beginning to think about buying a better reverb... the Digiverb just doesn't cut it
the problem is i have no idea what to buy. Because i like both long halls and intense springs (come on, i have a jazzmaster and a tremolo pedal... who doesn't love them oldschool tones with a jazzy?!)
the best spring reverb i've yet discovered online seems to be the Solidgold FX Surf Rider - with Prymaxe's nonstop sales, it even seems affordable enough... but it doesn't do the long halls i like. An RRR seems awesome for halls, but doesn't do spring AND is not as "cheap". Ghost Echo seems good for overal audience, but doesn't really go very deep, does it... Aeterna seems amazingly deep and lush and a hint of that shimmer might be very awesome, but again - no spring. What does both long halls AND good springs well, has some character and is under $200 internationally shipped? or do i have to pick only one?
how about the Subdecay Spring Theory?
still going to think it through, i'd buy probably in january or so, but i want to now my options by then

I concur. I'm not a huge spring reverb fan but the Accu. setting on the Cathedral sounds awesome. & the amount of sound you can make with this pedal is really unreal. & PRESETS, SON. I can make a demo of all the presets I've come up with if anyone would be interested. I favor long decays and noise shiz.D.o.S. wrote:I'm fucking stupid and no one should operate under any other premise.

Re: Recommend me a reverb pedal?
Ummmm i don't know, i'm not really looking for infinite reverb, so the whole second footswitch is redundant for me
long i meant like... deep and lush, post-whatever style - Jakob, Isis... i know they used Boss RV-3, but i've already tried that and didn't like very much
to be honest, i'm mostly torn between the Surf Rider dlx from Prymaxe/used normal one and a used RRR... i just don't know!

Re: Recommend me a reverb pedal?
I don't use that second footswitch too much either. Apparently it can be used for tap tempo, whatever that is.
But it goes 100% wet, and the other knobbies can get you even deeper. But for sers, it's the best sub-$200 spring I've used, and I think I've used all of them...

Hey man. The Surf Rider doesn't have a huge decay to it but neither does an RRR or GE. I've at some point owned all three and I like the sgfx one the best. With the tone knob back, it gets pretty hall like. Of course it's got the spring tones down too. And it gets way deep. It's not as much decay as it is deepness. Unlike the RRR, the dry signal is never missing. With the level up on the Surf rider, it sounds like fully wet mix reverb but the decay seems to be longer because your dry signal is still reverberating in the background. With the RRR mix at max, it seemed like my sustained notes never sustained how I wanted them too.
Also, don't base your choice only on the new Prymaxe video. Almost the entire video, he keeps the reso knob near max. Buttttttt the longest reverb tones are with the reso down low. It seems a little backwards but that's how it is. That's why the Prymaxe video makes it seem so subtle. It's not subtle unless you keep the level down and the internal trimpot is way handy to set the boost mode. I think the boost mode is the original Surf Rider but with the boost off, it cuts the level a bit and the trimpot determines how much cut. Just everything is real interactive on it. The Prymaxe demo didn't do it justice at all.
I've had the Spring Theory too!
It was fun for the huge decay times, but I found the room side pretty muddy with a long decay and kinda unpleasant. But the spring side was nice and the long decays on the spring side were fun but got a little muddy too. The Surf Rider is clear and totes beautiful all the time!http://www.facebook.com/pages/Housewife/331848200230566
