I love the surf rider. It sounds so great, and I love the extra control that you get compared to most reverb units. The only drawback is the layout. I find it's always a bit of a fight to get it on the board. I often think about getting a new small box ghost echo or a malekko spring or something to fit on the board easier, I just know I'm gonna miss it the second it's off the board.
I think the only problem with solidgoldfx is their pricing. Their effects are great, the aesthetic is great, they pretty much all impress me. It's just they're priced among the top tier of boutique effects, which makes you say "yeah, but for that price I could get..." For instance, I love the demos of the Electroman delay, and I would love to have one, but the price is high enough that I said for the cash I'll step up to a (used) Lunar Echo. The Electoman delay, Stutterbox Tremolo, Nitro Boost, Agent 13, Formula 76 all sit at the same point for me, where the price is just a hair too high for me to bite. And you don't find very many used either.
But am I ever glad I traded that DD20 for a Surfrider
