Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!

Post by mathias »

Took me until just now (and I've been around, on and off, for awhile) to realize that the title of this thread is:

What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS! (as in, what's in the mail?)

And not:

What's this post? The thread of and for GAS!

I know... I came upon it a funny way.. I've been really thinking that that I needed a really resonant guitar... and was thinking about building a LP kit.... but then after really thinking about what I was really after I came to the conclusion I needed a guitar like my Rivoli... and so I've been looking at all these cheap epi 335 type things which all seem to be made in china and from what I saw at guitar center last week I really was/am disinterested in what they are doing anymore... so I was looking for a 90's epi... nope.. no dates.. and all new shit.. anyway I got the idea to search bigsby in guitars on ebay and found this thing... deal too good to pass up.. duncan p90s a REAL bigsby center block build... the color... though.. not sure.. makes you want to drink green beer or something... It's a Canadian company that has their stuff built in korea... and since MIJ and MIA stuff is out of budget atm I'll take korean built over china any day... also it is not as common a shape so not to be as normal as a 335... still the color... I really love and hate it..

Played a few guitars through an Excelsior today...damn that thing felt good! I really liked the amp especially considering the price and size. Could definitely work in my dorm.

I also tried out a few guitars, including one of the Hollowbody Epi's with a Bigsby (which was nice) and the 50th Anniversary Jaguar (which was hella nice but also hella expensive). Oddly enough, they didn't have ANY Jazzmasters...which upset me.

I think I'm gonna get a Squier Jaguar or Jazzmaster and swap out some parts by the end of the year. I've been wanting to try out those Lace Sensors for a while.

Later tonight, my girl has planned a busy ass day for me :grumpy:

I am thinking about returning my FreqBox, selling something else and getting a Minitaur and a B2M midi converter...
I know I have barely messed with the FreqBox but I would rather have some more instantly easy to dial in bass synth sounds.
