Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
Incoming: Shitari Trip Synth, Fuzzprint, Digitech DL8. GAS just struck out of nowhere. And when it hit, it hit hard.

IN: Amplified Parts Persuader tube overdrive/distortion kit: http://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/K-930
Building this to see how I like the sound of it as a tube preamp for my hybrid practice amp project. Since it's driving the tubes with only DC power (what I've read called a “starved-plate” design), it seems like it gets too distorted and fuzzy in the demos I've seen. So I'll build it and see how I like it, and then decide where to go from there (build an AC-powered tube preamp, etc.) There's also the Matsumin Valve Caster circuit to try after this kit.

I know exactly what you mean. If Ibanez still made their pedals in those beautiful cases I'd be tempted to fill up my board with 'em.

Probly. Those Pacman knobs are pretty awesome for one.
The bass chorus from that series sounded really awesome in that analogman delay effects loop video

Yeah, some of those effects sound pretty good.
I think all the other delays from that series are digital.

Got my DL4 from Dan last night and spent a few hours stripping the case of all paint. Looks good in all aluminum and sounds rad and the looper is super intuitive

Like, yeah.
It has real tight and responsive lowend. It is sweet for lead bass thrashy stuffs.

^ still have to get my hands on one some day. Especially now that I've seen a few with a stock status indicator LED these are totally back on my radar in a big way.
Just tracked down and made a deal for a Lastgasp Cyber Psychic, SO SO glad I could find a used one, I was really twitching about the cost of a new one.
