Dude on TB was talking about how much he missed an old SR5. He was blurted out, I almost would trade my 5 string Corvette for an SBMM Ray35. I immediately PMed him, layed on my smooth talkin' typin' voice. He got a hold of me the next day. We talked on the phone. Dude knows he is trading down value wise He has several Warwicks (3-4 more) and no money, works out for me.

Nice! I've got a couple crappish basses that I'll prolly never use. One of theses days I'll start getting rid of some stuff to start upgrading.

I had practice last night, and I was shocked at how incredibly f'ing happy I was with my sound. I am so pumped for upcoming gigs now. I really have found the perfect-for-me combo of basses and rig.

Still lovin' the Ric? That's on my short list to at least try out.

The Ric is complimenting your other gear nicely, eh?

Yeah, I've tried the Ric through a handful of different amps now, and it really seems to sing going through a dirty-ish tube amp. I wasn't as crazy about it when going direct or through a SS amp. That made it sound harsher and more shrill. But through my Bugera, it just sounds punchy as hell.

But I definitely still love the G&L too. They are so crazy different in tone, it works well. I can just switch back and forth between them depending on the tone I need for a particular song. The Ric is for dirty clanky punchy songs, and the G&L is for when I need a thicker tone with more bottom or a cleaner/modern thang.
