It's Austin it could be that, some guy that works at Dell and don't care, a rich 10 year old that bought a Dingwall, or you never know... He did mention that it was missing pick guard screws that are on order hence the low price...

Holy fucking shit, this thing sounds just like I thought it would. If only this guy hadn't put flats on it. I'll have to get a decent set of rounds to throw on this bad boy for tomorrow night's gig, and then I'll get a proper set of circle k's next week.

i'm not trying to denigrate the awesomeness of Chiefy finally getting a bass he's waxed poetical about how many places he'd rub his junk on if he ever got one, but i don't get Rics.

they're kinda interesting looking, but i played the one a dooder we shared a practice space with for a hinute had, and it sounded super butt. maybe he just had a dumb, Gawd I Love Tool But Don't Know How To Do It Right setup?

esplain.

A ric is a ric and they can really only be treated and played like a ric. But yes with a shitty setup they just don't work because to set them up other then how they are suppose to fights against that thang. meaning they are odd quirky things.. why do you think the imagery of it works so well in FLCL? dat halp?

Ricks have the most unique bass sound I can think of. They are the complete exact fucking opposite of the boutique hi-fi basses that everyone over on talkbass spooges over. They have less sub-lows than most other basses, and a lot more high-mids. They sound slightly distorted even when they're perfectly clean. They are dirty, nasty, throaty, and badass. These are a few of the clips over the years that made me have to have one:

(alright, this one is going through a distorted amp; coincidentally, my amp is a clone of the amp Lemmy's used for the last 35 years)

Oh goddamn it, you can't embed youtube clips with a timestamp? WTF? Ah fuck it.

They haz tons of lows if you do take off the choke cap on the bridge tone and if you don't know yet the amount of distortion depends on how close the bridge pickup is to the strings... also you get this more with the older pickups then the new ones.. the new ones are really clean :idk:

also you just need a bullet belt!

All that may be so. However, I love the shit out of it as is, and doubt I would ever want to change it :thumb:
