in my experience. the random volume-drop is due to not having the blend knob set clock-wise. having it set at like noon is not a good idea. or recording it w/ the blend knob at 12 but then turning it clockwise after-the-loop is recorded is also a good idea:
but yeah, i recommend EVERYONE buy the Empress Superdelay. that unfinished chrome one would look so sexxxy ANY pedal-board.

so you are saying the Hazarai pedal is better than the DL4. there has been some debate about this but it alwayz ends up being inconclusive. i can't say either becuz i have never owned or used a DL4 but i know some people are really big fans. i actually think the DL4 may have a better looper but again i can't say becuz i have not tested the DL4.
actually. to be honest. i hope the Hazarai pedal doesn't become popular. or rather, i hope it becomes popular w/ the "right" people.
Definitely. I like the looper on the SMMw/H much better than the one on the DL4 plus you don't have all of the ludicrous reliability issues. The SMMw/H's looper is 33 seconds, can high and low pass filter, reverse, slow down/speed up, pitch shift, and you can use it at the same time as the delays. I do a lot of ambient/drone stuff with just the SMMw/H and a heavy reverb. I loop a chord progression, slow it/tune it down and octave, reverse it and roll back the filter a bit. Viola, instant ambient drones. I loves it.

i think you had/have a Digitech Hardwire Delay/Looper right? how does that compare/contrast to the Hazarai pedal? how did you like that one? i remember when i was deciding it was b/w that, the Hazarai & the Line 6 DL4.

I don't have the hardwire delay but I've bought one and returned it the next day (the week before I did the same thing with a DD 6
) not because it was bad but because it just wasn't as versatile as some of the other delays in my price range. The looper was decent similar to the looper or "hold" function on the Boss delays except that you can do more with it. Obviously it's looper is better than the SMMWH but the DL4 is capable so SOOO much more as far as looping goes, you can just go crazy with that thing (Minus The Bear anyone?). So basically it comes down to how much you want to do with the looper and how much your willing to spend.

I had a DL-8 a while back. It was a great delay. Some of the prettiest/cleanest delays I've heard. The looper is really simple to use but has very limited control (just volume) and is 20 seconds. Trails switch. All around good pedal. I just like the SMMw/H more because of the ability to manipulate loops and the modulated delays are better IMO.

what i never understood was why that Digitech Timebender is also lmtd to 20 seconds of looping time. or am i wrong about that? i know personally i basically narrowed it down to looping times. EHX SMMwH was just longer. i am not saying the Hazarai pedal is the greatest looper/delay, but if anyone could get one used for like a $150 shipped, i'd say that's a steal and a great overall value. there isn't a learning curve so much as you really just have to spend time w/ it to see what it does. i mean even w/ people that have experience w/ delays & looper pedals i would suggest that.
