So far, it seems like the bands who are coming back for more than a single reunion tour get that. Mission of Burma sounds more furiously skronky than ever. Dinosaur Jr... well, they sound like themselves. But that's always been their point. I think the issue would be new bands trying to ape the sounds of "the old days."
Still, that said, I've never been too concerned about what's on the radio, so I probably will miss most of the wannabes who would make me cringe.
True... ThIng Is what is in the mainstream influences those starting out which has a effect on musical growth, at least intil they find more interesting stuff... Also the new sound garden is nowhere near to what tad garden was
