So in other news my local GC has a Fender Bassman 70's head for sale for 600 bucks right now. I kind of want to at very least try it. Is that a good price?

I may be off but that seems steep. I would expect 4-500 for one in good condition. prob. really depends on the exact model

huh. so, get a call from Syren last night. all three of us rarely talk on the phone. usually all text. so, kinda worried something's jumping off, i almost lose an ear drum to some squealing that made my dog sit up and look around. her 30th birthday is end of September, she was out in SF and talked the owner of the Milk Bar (awesome name, not huge venue but really nice nightclub style spot) into blocking out that night for her. so it's going to be an invite only thing where some of us are meeting up for a dinner before, her cover band's doing a short set, we're going to play, then dj's and stuff until about 2am. should be totes (love that word. makes me feel so PRETTY) fun.

lol. it's 4 days after i get back from Japan so we're trying to nail down a song we're working on the 2 days we can practice before i leave, i'm out for 10 days, we're going to try to jam 2 or 3 get togethers before the 22nd, then play. NEAT.

would be great if i could figure out a way to bring my bass so i could run through stuff wiht headphones, but that's not gonna happen.

man. finding a six string fanned fret would be hard enough, having the $3 g's or so extra would be harder yet, talking a store in Japan to taking a return is the hardest of all. my grrL is constantly amazed and delighted that we can just... take stuff we don't want back. not how it goes out there at ALL. she bought a pair of vintage shoes one time, the next day we were walking around Shibuya and the heel of one just DISINTIGRATED. melted like some weird movie special effect where somebody got turned to sand. kinda cool looking.

but we bought a pair of $10 beater shoes for her to not have to walk barefoot, went to the store, and it took almost an hour of talking to get a return. i had to get a little Maybe He's Violent big guy with the guy too (hate that shit). verrrry different out thar.

If you can make do a with a bass that has less than 6 strings there's a few tasty ones up at Ishibashi music that I'd be willing to pay for.

evarahbody else too - i'm going to be in Tokyo for like 10 days. bouncing around mostly, is there stuff people want me to grab for them? i travel light so there's gonna be a decent amount of room in my suitcase.
