I could give a shit about the LOOK of a relic, what I like is the feel. Good ones have just impossibly great neck feel...it would takes years and years of play to get a shiny new guitar to that point.
Maybe partying will help.

I really like the Tele Deluxe style guitars.
Any suggestion other than the ASAT deluxe for something with more option like coil split, etc...
And I also prefer rosewood fretboard and fat maple neck.

I'm tinking about selling my PRS CE22 and getting something that look better (with more soul to it... I don't know).

Telecasters rock shit...but are very uncomfortable if you try to play while sitting
When you're ready to come back down
I'll be waiting here
All your friends will be around
I promise I'll wait forever

I don't know if I can do it.

I'm just soooooooooooooooo used to the sounds that P-90s make that everything else sounds... too much like a guitar. I know that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but after playing my Casino for a decade and then my LP Faded Special... my effects and everything sound a very specific way through P-90s and my amp. It sounds like a big CRUNCH.

Teles are obviously great, but they sound like a GUITAR. I think I've said this a few other times, and I know it sounds ridiculous.

I think that P-90s set DIRECTLY into the wood of a guitar is what I need. That's just the way it is.

The simplicity of the Tele is what draws me, but the sound just does not lend itself to my playing style and how I like my effects to work.

I suppose if I were to put together a mahogany Tele body with a 24.75" scale neck and then cram some P-90s into it I'd be alright... but again, it seems like it's defeating the whole purpose. And I've gone down that road before and its exhausting.

I like the aesthetic of the steel plate with the two chrome knobs and switch, and the pickguard has always been attractive to me... the way it sits on the body.

WELP.

And you guys always come to my rescue with Telecasters with P-90s in them... but none of them suit me. The Squier one, the Jim Adkins, the Modern Player Thinline, Tele Deluxe... they have the P-90s, but they aren't as simply laid out at a Telecaster. I don't think there is one with a regular Telecaster routing and P-90s.

I just bought this:

I am planning on doing the solid Glendale bridge with no pickup hole, a rosewood neck and either a HB or P-90 in the neck posistion.
If I do the HB in the neck, the switch will be wired for split HB/full HB/kill.
I'M EXCITE!

hell, yeah mogwai make teles sound so mournful and lush. still distinctively twangy, but super full and watery sounding too. Those clean neck-pickup tones really get me goin'.
