RC-2 or RC-3 or should I save for a Boomerang III?

I don't have experience with the RC-2 or 3, but I always suggest getting the Boomerang III. However, it depends on your needs, and if you think you're going to expand in the future.

I think it depends on how crazy/complex you're going to get with the loops.

I've used the RC-2 and it was fine for the little stuff I used it for. I don't have any experience with the Boom but I hear great things about it from most people that own it.

I have a Boomerang+ coming in the post today. I'll report back. Might be able to save you a little bit of cash getting an older model if you're looking into Boomerangs

I am a long time RC2 user and I flipping love it,
haven't tried an RC3 yet but I am thinking about it

Only major issue is the double click to stop a loop, I did make a switch from radio shack parts for about 7 bucks (including enclosure) that worked fine. (then I lost it when I moved )

It takes up one pedal board space, sounds good all the time, Of course if I was looping anything other than guitar signal and the occasional kindle fire synth app, it would be lacking some features. The one thing I kindof want to do is upgrade to a stereo looper since I am pushing more of my chain into stereo territory, however I would probably still run the RC2 since I like running the loops from that into my FM4 to get all sliced up crazy.


You can build the stop footswitch right into the top of the enclosure by running a momentary from the right plugs on the expression jack and not using the battery.

What are your needs?
Just looping? Saving, USB connection, multiple loops with different footswitches? Or also some sync stuff to other (like iPhone app) things?
If the later one, grab an used DD-20. Use it as the last thing in your chain beside your board.
For looping with integrated drums, RC-2.
I love my RC-2. The most used looper in the house. For all that simple jam around stuff it is so great. But i really just use it for looping and overdubs. No saving or other fancy stuff. I'm a friend with the "on the fly" stuff, just play it a and loop it.

I just want something for home to practice and have fun.
With a beat generator would be nice.
Something that record longer than my Superdelay.
I prefer to use the SD as a delay, not a looper.

Boomerang III look very awesome, but probably too much for home use.
And the fact that Boss has a beat generator is a plus for practice.

Does the fact that RC-3 has a longer recording time mean lower sound quality or it's as good as the RC-2?

more important: RC-3 has less drum sounds and these also sound like shit. If you are going for the drums, RC-2.

Save would be a plus... but doesn't really matter.
I need something to jam with... no live session or anything.

Thanks all!! I got the RC-2.
Really good tools for home practice.
I pluged it in my Yamaha DG-Stomp for late at night jam (with headphone).
The drums track sound cool before some tape echo and flanger.

It's a lot of fun and a good tool to work on some idea.
