Re: The talk you OUT of GAS thread!
Instead of buying the Lodestone, I went for a Boss FZ-2, and Kowloon Walled Bunny...which was unintentional, since I wanted both and jumped on them, then realized I could have put that money towards a Lodestone, then said "fuck it" since I already wanted those anyway and have an idea of what they are like, whereas there are only mediocre sound samples of the Lodestone out there. And now I am considering the Seriously Special Twosome, but have no money for it.

Good deals on ILF: too many to list, just ask!

What exactly does the Roland do? Is it like a synth for your bass? Me confused.
That whole world seems foreign to me. Probably because I'm not sexy enough for it.

Same thing happened with me and Kramer guitar GAS. Sold the TimeLine, then splurged on pedals and the new Sunn head instead of getting the guitar. LESSON LEARNED!

Re: The talk you OUT of GAS thread!
Yeah the Roland pickup converts the bass notes into a message telling the synth unit what to play. It is not midi though, so you are stuck with the Roland sounds (not bad or anything). If you want to use midi with the ROland stuff, it is a pitch to midi converter, which has a lot more latency than just the Roland pick-up to the Roland bass synth unit.
The Peavey Bass is a midi controller so it can control anything that is run by midi, so that opens up a world of stuff that the Roland can not do. Since the Peavey is not doing pitch to midi but has a very complicated electrical way of sending midi messages straight out of the bass, into a little controler box into whatever is making the sound (synth, computer with softsynths, whatever).
Oh yeah, you fine JWAR!

Done this same kind of thing multiple times. Must be a sickness or something. And then I always wonder why the big ticket want items are out of reach.
GODDAMN GAS.
