Is This Baritone?

Post by NihilistNixon »

I can't tell if the new Hodad from Danelectro is a baritone or not. I don't know if it's the shape of the body or what. but it seems long.

I'm pretty sure the old one was.

Which, unfortunately, means nothing with the new one.

Poking around their website, it looks like they've got a "Customer Service Czar" named Marcy (does she have a playground? Does she smell Sex and Candy, yeah?).

Maybe shoot her an email?
marcy@danelectro.com

Also, I'm pretty sure this is the first time in the history of ILF someone didn't want a baritone.

I sent her an email yesterday and havent got a response back. I bet she does smell lke sex and candy, or atleast some sort of pine scent.

I do not like baritone, too big and awkward for my taste. Played a Telecaster baritone and was over it quick.lol

Does anybody else feel like danelectro's whole goal as a company is to produce so many products that even they dont know what's going on?

You'd think that they'd at least put a spec. or two up on their website.

Where's the beef?

Sounds kinda like Electro-Harmonix. Must be some kinda "electro" thing.

I hope thats their goal. As long as they dont start making Strats, Teles, SGs, or anything of the like.

I mean, wouldn't it just be better if they worked on different variations of Dano Pros and '59s rather than churning out an alarming amount of things that all seem quite suspiciously similar and then doing a very brief reissue every 20 years? It's like there are so many different models that their line becomes creatively saturated and they lose their uniqueness.

Maybe I'm just bitter that their website sucks so much. :grumpy: For the price, Danos are some of the best guitars you can get. That should go without saying.

Maybe my perception of Danelectro's line is completely flawed too. :idk:

I'd give that guitar to Hitler.

He could rock out in youtube parodies of himself.

Looks like a normal guitar, the bari version back when they first came out had three lipsticks.. and was AWESOME!

Also.. I like the way the things look.

No, you're thinking of Fender.
