imo, siamese dream is a better album. Maybe it's not fair, because i don't like double albums...

Personally, I feel as though MCIS is more of a branch out from that rockin alternative groove that Siamese Dream fit so well, and in many ways, remolded.
I take MCIS to be a bit more musical, more captivating, more swells and droughts. More sad.
I dunno, I see the double album to be a more complete work, with a clear introduction and a solid resolution. It encapsulates the feelings that us confused folk experience, and it does it in a variety of genres.
And nothing feels better than driving out into the country, slipping in Mellon Collie disk 2 and blasting the first track at the big ol' empty.

but what do I know? :whateva:
well i guess, but i just don't know.

The thing about NCIS is how despite every single component being terrible in it's own right, it is still so stupidly fun. Seriously, I've seen way too much of it thanks to my in laws, and as much as I don't want to like it, it is so banal that it is completely hypnotic.

oh and my take on the pumpkins: MCIS, aeroplane, and adore are the best SP releases, they rotate as my first, second and third favs. Machina I, Machina II, and SDream are about equal after that, with machina I being the slight favorite.

Exactly! It's the one show I watch where I know the same jokes and moments are going to repeated time and time again (Gibbs coming in while DiNozzo is goofing around, David screwing up idioms, McGee getting into tiffs with DiNozzo over geeky stuff, Abby being all emotional and needing caff-pow, Ducky and his weird stories)... but it's still tons of fun. I think that's really it... the fact it's the frickin' NAVY version of the CSI franchise but it's the most lighthearted (and dare I say "liberal") of the bunch. I mean, take the theme song for instance! It's totally gay techno music. Then of course the goth tech, the butch female lead, etc. etc. Okay... I know I've gone too far (in many ways). Time to get back to work.

I was totally going to use the theme for the next time I'm DJ'ing. Cheesiest trash techno evar! :thumb:
