I need to reorganize my board for a gig tomorrow. Also just got the Harmony Synth from MEC to replace my Second Voice. I was worried for a bit that it wouldn't fit, but we made it work.

DAAAAAAAAAAMN GURL, that is fine. Also, yeah, this looks like a super decent noise set-up. Get a 1/8"-1/4" jack, save some samples off your computer to that looper, run it through the board, instant creepy noise band.

FancyMike wrote:I put it before dirt because I don't keep my shits at unity gain and got tired of the level light turning red. I guess there's dirt before now if you count the Harmony Synth, but I've only just got that one and it kind of overpowers everything else in the chain when on so it's not doing much for me with the ring mod at the moment. In my band's set right now I've just got one spot where I click it on for a few seconds of nasty high pitched spacey siren sounds. Not too big on that sort of thing but the bandmates fucking love it and it has a place in our set.

With my guitar I like to tune the frequency to the tonic of whatever key I'm in, dial the mix to about four, with the LFO set quick-ish but pretty subtle. Adds some nice out of tune overtones in the background without getting overbearing. I haven't spent a ton of time with it yet, but this is about as 'musical' as I've gotten it.

not to butt into your conversation, BUT i use my ring mod post some dirt and pre others... it can be an amazingly musical thing if set right. i only actively use it on one track just now but i have Ideas

also if you set the mix to about 5 the switch to low and the freq to about 1 o clock and run into fuzz it does some coool sounds

Nice! You make me miss my POG2. I need to pick another one up down the road. How are you liking the PGC?

It's very mild...string balance and extra sustain but it dosent screw up the dynamics fuzzies like so I can just keep it on all the time + it adds no noise. It dosent do squash but that's a compressor sound I hate. Also the builder lives near me and is super cool guy.

I put this together today to try out broken fuzz sounds and this is some molten glitchy spazz puke fuzz right here... Algal > Barge Concepts Dual Boost with the Bass Bit Fuzz in its loop > Jero Civil War Muff > El Cap > Kalamazoos... It sounds like my amps are about to explode at medium volume... Love It...

That just looks like a fucking filthy amount of distortion going on.

Here's my new (always something new!) set up.

Meathead rules, as does this super shifter (but really only for noise purposes).

Nice Mark! I forgot you won that bit.

I have been changing some of my setup around recently. Discovered I need at least one more delay, and one of the 3 monotrons or an oscillator. Running a noise/synth rig alongside my bass stuff, but some of what's doing the noise, I need for my bass...still working on it in other words.

edit: Glad you're digging the MH Donovan!

Aww yeah TX in the house... You need the Monotron Delay... ITS TITS... You can put an alligator clip on it to hold notes and you can play through the delay, which sounds AWESOME...

Hey Don me and you are Chk Chk Bros... I got the same off someone who I think is banned now...
