What's the EQ on it like? Thinking I need to add a simple drive to my set up. Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Honestly if you are looking for a cheap overdrive I would look at noisemaker they are cheaper and you can talk to him and get exactly what you want.

That's precisely what I set out to do. Build my own. SO, dudes, is it mid heavy/no bass/nubby highs? Give me some deets.

Re: Karaoke Party
it has a pretty balanced EQ, I wouldn't call it funky at all. Has more top end because its an expansion of the 05/25/punch love circuit. However the KP has more low end which makes palm muting sound bitchin. It's also really transparent, so it's best used pushing tubes. With the control all the way up though it creates quite a bit of gain itself. And it's hella loud.

THIS 100%
it sounds EXACTLY like an overdriven amp... with slightly glitchy artifacts.
i LOVE mine... and it's very flat in EQ and is very underrated compared to some of her other gems

I've pretty much always thought it was her best pedal.

Yup. What they said.
Pretty much one of my top 3 favorite Devi pedals.

I couldn't get behind the sound. Sounded pretty 1D. If your building, consider something like the Red Llama, OCD, Electra, Super Duper, or any plethora of OD's on FSB.

Haha, I thought you meant funky as in like a weird sort of funk. My mistake.

Re: Karaoke Party
Mine just seems to make my clean guitar tone more bassy and loud (typically no real overdrive). If the control knob is all the way cranked then there are minimal fuzzy artifacts. It stacks with other pedals well though. This could just be my pedal though. I've seen other demos online where it seems more versatile by itself so IDK.
Of course, I've always speculated that I may have got a Dark Boost in a Karaoke Party enclosure. At this point I don't really care enough to find out. I still use it every now and then though.
