best modulation effect, bar none. I love 'em all, but the Whetstone is really tops.

Re: YOU CANNOT PHASE(R) ME!
There's a sloppy 9v snap job I'll need to fix. Otherwise, it's in better shape than any other small stone I've had.

This is another quirky old one. In-Line Effects XE-604 Eight Stage Master Phaser
Built by Coron in Japan in the 80s. There's a load of different brand names on these things. Same as the Coron DC-804 Eight Stage Super Phase.
You'll see them with labelled Bias, Frontline, Holmes, Sanox and a few other names.
It sounds pretty cool but it's a bit of a tone sucker when off. Kinda like a wet blanket over your amp.
Nice n chewy though

You guys with the sovtek stones mind posting guts? I'm curious, as some are tall font, some bubble, etc.
Not a problem, mate, just wait till next week, i don't have it with me... i hope i'll be able to take it apart
it looks inpenetrableanyway - yeah, i know it's supposed to be a Small Stone thing, but i'm worried the phasing i'm talking about might be Green Sovtek exclusive... it never sounded as thick and spacey on USA versions to me and i REALLY love the sound (and the looks!!!), i'm just kinda on the fence because of the size, weight and the tiny volume drop (and of course Whetstone can do so much more... )
meh, let's move on... if i scrape some cash, i have other priorities anyway

Re: YOU CANNOT PHASE(R) ME!
Phasers are the only modulation that I like, and that's with the speed dialed in at a little faster than superslow. Thus, I just need a phaser that sounds good with the ability to change the rate.
THUS: THE SMALL STONE
I have three of them right now... a v3 from '78 or '79, the v4 from 2002, and the Nano. The Nano is nothing compared to the 2002 reissue... haven't had a chance to A/B the reissue with the v3 (which are aesthetically the same pedal with the exception of the reissue having an LED). Wanna do that today!

EDIT: Geezuz I say "thus" a lot.

Re: YOU CANNOT PHASE(R) ME!
For some reason I thought I had commented here, but I guess I hadn't.
I've owned quite a few phasers (small stone, phase 90, polyphase, boss ph-3, foxx foot phaser). My favorite one is the Morley Deluxe Phaser, which I believe jrmy is rocking now.
